Pros: Fairly clear instructions for setup. Linux support. Drivers support manual duplexing. Decent photos. Solid construction. Cons: Costly toner. Size and weight. Curls paper.
I bought a new HL-4040CN yesterday and set it up on a dual-boot Windows XP/Ubuntu machine to replace a 16 year old Epson AL1500 that finally died. The instructions were excellent. Follow them! They lead you through ...

Pros: Excellent quality, super easy setup, clearly shows ink capacity, high capacity toner cartridges available. Cons: Noisy, refill sites don't have these cartridges, heavy weight!! only one paper tray.
I spent quite a bit of time trying to find THE right printer for my one person home office. I'd previously had a Brother multifunction unit which I was glad finally died. Because I often do 30-50 pages at a time, I was really concerned with having to ...

Pros: Cost, speed, solid performance, lack of jams, great network performance, cheaper toner than HP Cons: Toner not yet available through discounters or non-brand names, weight
We have a clinic and we often make our own marketing materials, teaching aids for work with children, etc. The cost for using inkjets is just plain crazy. We've owned the Oki C5150 and liked it but kept having trouble with staff changing the toner and ...

Set-up review only
by oc_mike ,Feb 14 '09
Pros: Cost, ease of set-up, convenient size footprint for my small office. Cons: None yet
I installed the printer yesterday, so it's too early to provide a thorough review, but I felt compelled to write a review of the set-up procedures.
I bought this printer through Amazon.com via a "trusted seller" for one of the lowest prices available on the internet.
I needed an affordable network capable color laser printer for my small office LAN.
Over the years, I have set-up many printers and other hardware devices.
My experience setting up this printer was, by far, the simplest and most satisfying to date.
I followed the extremely thorough instructions from the set-up cd to the letter. Everything simply worked. I was very pleasantly surprised.
The PCs on my network are all running Windows XP SP3 and I set-up the printer as a peer-to-peer network device.
If the printer continues to perform as well as the set-up did, I will be elated. I will post a review of the printer in about 3 months when I should have something useful to say.
