Pros: Easy to use; inexpensive; does a lot. Cons: The phone isn't clear.
I won a gift certificate to J & R thanks to epinions first review sweepstakes. We decided to buy a fax machine. We bought it in July but it has taken this long for me to review it. Let me make it clear. This was not ...
Pros: Small Footprint,Cheap consumables, Simple to use and maintain, Perfect fax for the home office environment. Cons: Catch trays are optional.
I purchase my Intellifax 775 remanufactured from Staples with a $40.00 rebate so it netted out to thirty bucks and it was thirty dollars well spent. When the box arrived I was pleased to find that the unit looked brand new. You really could not tell that ...
Pros: Ease of use, price Cons: For home office or light use only
I never knew how handy an in home fax machine would be until I got one. I just wanted a simple fax machine with not too many bells and whistles and not too expensive for occasional use and this is the perfect match.
Pros: Ease of use, longevity of carbon refill cartridge.
Cons: Won't keep up with a high volumn office.
When I started a small business out of my home, I knew that one of my first purchases would have to be a fax machine. It is almost impossible to do business today without one. I knew that I did not need a mutifunctional machine like at my office at ...
Pros: A good unit for the price. Cons: Not practical for a single phone line with an answering machine.
This little machine is a good choice for people who don't do enough faxing to warrant a more expensive fax machine and where the quality of the faxes - pictures in particular - is not critical. The Intellifax 775 was easy to set up and use. The faxi ...
Pros: Cheap and handy for making copies with also. Cons: Seems to constantly be out of cartridges
We use the Brother Intellifax 775 at home because it was given to us as a gift. It is your standard plain paper fax and it is pretty much plug it into the wall when we need it type of fax machine. We don't use it often because:
Pros: Low price and ease of use Cons: Poor print quality
We purchased this fax as a cheap way to receive and send faxes at a shop we are located at only 3 days a week. It is seldom used but has operated without fail each time it was called upon. The machine layout is easy to work with and understand. The ...
Pros: Easy to operate and is very durable. Cons: Not practical for heavy usage.
This fax machine is so very, very easy to operate and its a snap to change the ink cartridge...which is just what I was looking for (since I don't have a degree in electrical engineering).
If you are looking for a nice fax/copier machine to use "some of the time," well here it is. Be forewarned, it is not designed for the busy home office. Why? When you have lots of copies that need faxing sometimes it grabs two copies at one time, so now I simply feed each copy through the system by hand--this works well.
I have had my fax/copier for over a year now with absolutely no mechanical problems.
Pros: looks good, small, okay phone sound quality Great service Cons: good for the price
I bought this because we need a fax machine occasionally, but when we need it, we need decent print quality that can be read easily when received and then signed and faxed back. This machine is not it. I can't even see a student being satisfied with the quality of faxes this machine puts out. Also, the sample cartridge that comes with the machine is small and gave out without any warning after only a few faxes. Worse, all I received were blank pages on that last fax, giving the sender the false impression of a successful transmission. Move over Brother, I want a new family!
UPDATE: Dec 19th.We contacted Brother, they are sending a new fax to swap out this one. Service rep said (after seeing the copy we sent) it shouldn't be bad like this, so, something is wrong. I will update as soon as we receive the other fax machine.
UPDATE Dec 22. Recieved new fax machine today and it's a whole lot better. A slight bit better with the factory Brother cartridge. I would not recommend after market cartridges.
Great service! I feel very confident about Brother after this experience.
Thanks Brother you are great.
An easy to use and reasonably priced fax machine.. by rtw45 ,Dec 18 '03
Pros: Good price for a easy to use well designed machine.
Cons: The copies could be clearer, but they're very usable.
I grew up with phones that required you to speak to the operator to place a call, and I can use this machine without a problem. The machine does what it is supposed to do with little effort and at a very reasonable price. For the home or other limited use situations, it is fine.
Pros: Fax and phone work well. Clear printing. Copier also. Cons: Toner roll hard to replace. Phone cord too short. Hard to use without manual.
I bought the Brother Intellifax because we were buying a house and needed to fax paperwork both to the out of state bank and the realtor's office.
Once we really read the directions, it worked out fine, but you need to read and follow the steps spelled out.
I love the convenience of having a home fax! It has many uses and works quite well. Plus you have the convenience of having an in-home copy machine.
I hate that you HAVE to have the manual with you while setting it up. After our move, the manual is missing and I am having some trouble receiving faxes.
Pros: Easy set up. Paper feed was good. Cons: Very poor print quality
The machine was easy to set up and understand. We purchased it when our old Brother 600 started to give only poor quality faxes. The fax print quality of the 775 was very poor. Customer Support did not offer a resolution. We ended up returning it to the store.
Pros: Set up. Small footprint. Sound quality of phone. Cons: Print quality (the main point of a fax machine!)
I bought this printer based on 2 things: my old Brother thermal-paper fax machine gave 12 years of trouble-free service, and the earlier reviews here. Setting up this machine was easy because it worked almost the same as the old one (not a criticism--why change something that works!). But the print quality is worse. Underlines come out as dots, the small index letters on the on-line registration are barely readable, etc. Customer service answered in a reasonable time but had no solution (and this is not an adjustable feature). So, back in the box and back to the store. Very disappointed.
Pros: Inexpensive and easy to use. Cons: Mine tends to jam or get paper loading errors.
This is an inexpensive and fairly simple-to-use fax machine. Be careful to set the preferences about reports and verification. I went thru a cartridge fairly quickly with the machine printing a report or verification each time I sent or received a fax. I turned the reporting off and now save on ink and paper. It's overall a good home fax machine, but mine has a tendency to get 'reload paper' and 'check paper' errors on the LED screen. Taking the paper out and putting back in takes several attempts before the error goes away. Also, a document to be faxed has to be aligned about perfectly or it will jam. I've not read any other reviews mentioning these problems. Also, shop around and the cartridges aren't too expensive and last for quite a while (if reporting is turned off). So, overall, I can recommend this machine.
This compact, space-saving fax machine not only faxes but also allows voice calls on the same line. The copy function produces 400 x 400 dpi copies an...More at Best Buy ®
