Pros: Dries Super Fast, Waterproof, PABA Free, Sand Resistant, Aloe & Vitamin E Cons: N/A
I have fair skin, but of course, being a red head that's to be expected. I have spent years trying to protect myself from major sunburns. For me, going to the beach can be a catastrophe if I'm not careful. After experiencing the worst sunburn of my...
Pros: Dries Quickly - Lasts for Hours Cons: Need someone to do my backside!
Had lots of yard work to do last weekend. Put my bathing suit on and headed outdoors -- it was 10 am and already 100 degrees in the shade. (It does get hot here in Arizona.) After trimming the Bougainvillia for about a half hour, I realized this job...
Pros: Goes on easily, quickly and does not feel oily or sticky and works as advertised. Cons: none that I can think of
As an avid tennis player and golfer, it is essential to use a sunscreen that is not oily or greasy. For years I have used various sunscreen - creams, liquids, lotions, treated wipes, sprays, etc. In every case, I had to wash my hands after application...
Pros: Very effective, water resistant, long-lasting Cons: Costs a bit more but goes far, kinda slimey
Well, y'all, if it's anything that Texas is, it's hot and sunny in the summer (and often the spring and fall as well here on the coast!). Protection from the sun is a near necessity, unless you have the hide of a barnacle and the brains of a sea slug....
Pros: dries quickly, spreads easily and effectively Cons: smells a little funny at first application
Living in sunny California can take a toll on your skin. I am always trying and buying new sunscreens for various purposes. Does one want to use the same sunscreen for skiing, sitting out by the pool, driving with the top down, gardening, etc? My...
Pros: Effective, all you could ask for in a sunscreen Cons: none
My quest has always been for an all-in-one sunblock: one that is waterproof, has a high SPF, won't sting or run into my eyes, and the added kicker--does not clog pores. Yep, I hate using more than one product so I've been looking for something I can...
Pros: Not oily, works wonderful Cons: Smells like a box of bandaids.
I love camping, hiking, and especially swimming in the lakes/oceans anywhere I can. The only problem is I burn easier than a TV dinner. I have to wear that 40 SPF sun block and put it on every hour. I still manage to burn, and there is nothing worse...
Pros: Dries really fast and it really works, even on kids Cons: Very cold during application
This quick gel really works and it does dry fast, which is an advantage. We love the beach, but going there is painful because of the sticky gooey suntan lotion we all have been using. This Quick Gel is a great idea and since it is dry and covering you...
I leap for Bullfrog Quick Gel! It's the best sun protection out there! by rhinoguy26 ,Apr 29 '04
Pros: The product dries instantly and is non-greasy. It covers with absolutely no white residue. Cons: In a dry climate, the gel flakes after an hour of activity.
You must reapply.
I recently returned from a hiking trip in the Arizona desert. I knew I needed a product to withstand the sun and soaring temperatures in the arid region. I wanted sunscreen with a good amount of SPF and UV protection. Using Bullfrog Quick Gel with 36 SPF, gives me a negligent amount of burn. In my case, my skin can stand a slight burn with an SPF of 36. No after sun, Aloe Vera treatments required here. I didn't have to worry about the horrible discomfort felt in the shower from a nasty burn. This stuff is heaven-sent!
The Best Product on the Market by dtp_guy ,Apr 18 '05
Pros: Always works great. Cons: Little pricey.
Beats the competition every year! The Gel is my number one choice. Bullfrog is the most difficult product to find on the retail shelf. Kmart told me Bullfrog is the latest arrival in the sunblock category every year. The company chooses to hide their toll free number so I was unable to call with a sales question.
Heavy alcohol content. Doesn't work! Body Gel is better by brentmcd111 ,Sep 20 '06
Pros: works well if you're not in the water Cons: strong alcohol smell, not waterproof
This Quick Gel is no good. I am a surfer with fair skin (I know, bad combination) who puts any sunscreen to the test. The problem is finding one which will stay functional and waterproof for long periods of time. I've tried most of them, and the original Bullfrog Body Gel (white bottle, green label) is the best I ever found. It stays on for 2+ hours in the ocean, and I don't get burned. This new Quick Gel stuff (grey bottle, blue label) does not work nearly as well! First of all, it smells strongly of alcohol. And you better not have any open wounds or any kind of skin irritation because this stuff will sting. I would wager the stuff is flammable; it seems pretty harsh. And it dries so quickly that it's difficult to determine where it's been applied. But the worst part is that it doesn't stay on for long in the water, and you'll get sunburned! I would say it lasts 30 minutes in the ocean. That's not nearly long enough for me. Bullfrog, please bring back the original Body Gel formula!!!
