Pros: Fast Brewing (3-4 mins depending on grind), Durability. Cons: "Classic" styling, energy consumption,, water lid, carafe.
I purchased my Bun GR10 (Black) from Target about a month ago, and I am very pleased with the purchase. The Bunn has many commercial quality features that others lack. A little background: I'm a college student and displaced New Yorker who is quite a ...
Pros: Quick brewing. Solid construction, no moving parts. Makes great coffee. Cons: No timer.
Let's put it this way: My relationship with coffee pots has been rocky. I've always bought relatively cheap coffee pots. If it made coffee and had a timer, that's all I needed. I've had almost every low-end brand; none of them is worth owning even if ...
Pros: Fast brewing coffee Cons: Consumes more energy
While traveling through the U.S.A.( Beaumont TEXAS to be exact), I purchased a BUNN coffee maker at Sears. It was on a recommendation from my wife that I buy it. She had owned one years ago, and raved about them. I'm not really all that versed in coffee ...
Pros: Good tasting, fast coffee or hot water Cons: construction, customer service, repeated recalls, energy use, additional coffee required, small pot, no clock/programming
I loved my Bunn, which I bought after experiencing my parents' machine each time I went home to visit and desiring one each time. I thought I couldn't justify the cost, and after lamenting one too many times, my brother gave me one for Christmas. Oh, ...
Pros: You get the experience of seeing how BADLY a company can treat its customers?? Cons: Coffeepot=FIRE HAZARD, and Bunn wants me to PAY to replace the recalled unit!
I originally wrote this review back when I purchased and fell in love with my Bunn coffeemaker. However, it's a whole different ballgame now. You see, Bunn is issuing a recall on this - and other similar - coffeemakers, and the "terms" they are offering ...
Pros: Fast brewing when reservoir heater left on, well constructed and durable. Cons: Weak tasting coffee, wastes energy if reservoir heater left on, slow to warm water otherwise.
The Bunn-0-Matic Corporation makes a line of commercial and home coffee brewing machines. The model GR is a less expensive version of Bunn's B10 home coffee maker but instead of stainless steel and copper tubing, it uses hard plastic. It continuously ...
Pros: Good hot coffee fast. Cons: We have $180 in BUNN coffee makers. NO MORE BUNNS for us!!!!
Our BUNN GR10-W had slowed down on the water heating time. So I took it apart. The internal heating element was disintegrating. The tube (sheath) that surrounds the actual heating element had split open. The heating element itself was coming out of ...
Pros: Uses less coffee, great flavor, fast, convenient and easy to use. Cons: It ain't the best looking, but it's ready when you are.
Our first one made excellent coffee for six years at the rate of 3 to 5 pots per day. Then it started taking longer and longer to warm up. Decided it had earned retirement so I bought another just like it. As far as economics is concerned, it takes ...
Pros: made good coffee very fast Cons: recalled, and we are not supposed to use it, I don't feel this is right
For years I have owned only bunn coffee makers I thought they were the greatest. Almost 2 years ago our daughter gave us a bunn coffee maker for a gift, because our bunn coffee maker was not working very well and did not keep the water hot enough to make ...
Pros: The Bunn GR10 brews the perfect cup of coffee at lightening speed. Cons: Bunn is not genuinely interested in the safety and satisfaction of its customers.
Until today, I was a satisfied Bunn customer. However, quite by accident, I discovered that my Bunn GR10 Coffee Maker has been recalled due to its nasty little habit of catching fire! (Yes, I say "by accident" because, although I did send in my product ...
Pros: Solid construction, speed of brewing, warranty. Cons: Coffee usage, physical size, water heater is always on, carafe design
I was given the Bunn as a Christmas gift, and ended up returning it after 1 month because it started malfunctioning. During the time I used it, I was impressed with the speed in which it brews coffee. However, it does require significantly more coffee (up to 50% more) to achieve the result of other drip coffee makers. I also did find the coffee particularly flavorful nor as hot as I had expected.
I found the carafe design inferior, due to the fact that it tends to drip while pouring.
I think the Bunn is a good choice for people that drink a lot of coffee, or for a small office. Being a one pot a day household, I didn't like the idea of stagnant water sitting in the machine all day keeping water hot. Seems to me like a potential breeding ground for germs.
Pros: None faster. None hotter. Love the already heated reservoir. Cons: Ok, so it wastes some energy. The carafe is only 10 cup. Pricey.
I didn't mind the price at all, well worth it, considering what I got for my money! Heavy duty, quality, warranty, reputation, dependability, tough machine. I haven't timed a pot of coffee yet, but boy it's faster than any I've ever had or seen before! I would prefer a 12 cup carafe, but I'm not complaining. An excellent product, I wouldn't trade it for the world. I personally don't feel there is a better bargain on the market. If you can't afford one right now, worth saving your pennies for! You won't convince me there's a better one out there anywhere. Been wanting one for a long time, finally got it, couldn't be more happy or pleased.
Pros: Great coffee and brews fast. Cons: They keep breaking. Bunn provides poor customer service.
My Bunn GR10 started steaming like mad, then leaked water all over my counter from the bottom. I get on the Bunn site and learn that it's been recalled due to a melting plastic thingie. Bunn offers 2 options: 1. Wait for them to send me shipping materials and a recall slip, ship it back, wait for them to repair it and return it to me, or 2. Wait for them to send me a new one for half-price, then return the old one when the new one arrives.
Meanwhile, what am I supposed to do for coffee? I have to go out today and buy a new coffeemaker. And it will not be a Bunn.
My first Bunn died after a couple years of use. I liked it so much I bought another one anyway. Now with this recall, and the poor options offered by Bunn, I'm washing my hands of this brand.
What happened to Bunn quality by ksbunnfan ,May 31 '08
Pros: Makes good coffee, fast. Cons: Not the quality product that I expect from Bunn.
My GR10-B coffee brewer is my 3rd. The first performed faithfully and well for over 20 years. The heating coil failed in about 6 months on the second. The company replaced the unit in 2002 with a Gr10B. Recently it began to leak water when brewing coffee. I took it apart to find that the plastic fill reservoir had melted around the tube going from the fill reservoir to the heating compartment. I patched it with a large washer made of Duck Tape. The leaking stopped but I am still unable to pour from the carafe without dribbling.
Bunn GR10 10-Cups Coffee Maker by browneyes33 ,Aug 28 '05
Pros: Makes a good cup of coffee, probably faster than any other coffee maker. Cons: The coffee continues to cook on the hotplate. The company doesn't stand behind its product.
I agree with the other writer about problems with Bunn recalling their GR10 10-Cup Coffee Makers. Why, after paying $100.00 for a coffee pot should you have to pay $49.00 for a new one, then they won't send it to you until you return yours which takes mailing time and then you have to wait for the new one to be sent? Do they think people are stupid? I called and even tried to talk with a supervisor and got no where. I think people should just take their money and go elsewhere like I'm going to do. Apparently, the coffee makers are being recalled due to a problem that has caused several home fires and they are a fire hazard. Before the recall I was very satisfied with the operation of the unit and would have recommended it to anyone.
