Pros: effective, good ingredients Cons: thick, hard for daily use
Our family uses a lot of various Burt's Bees products because they are more natural products to use and because a lot of them have worked effectively for us. Burt's Bees Hand Salve was a product my husband had actually asked for last ...
Pros: creates a moisture barrier to keep hands soft Cons: greasy, smells like Vicks Vaporub, does not moisturize
This little 0.30 ounce (8.5 g) tin of hand salve came in a Burt’s Bees starter kit. You can buy the 3 ounce tin for about $6. I am very glad that I did not shell out any money for the big tin of Burt’s Bees Hand Salve. I do not plan to buy any ...
Pros: Heals dry, cracked hands quickly, pleasant scent good for men & women Cons: Too greasy for daytime use on most parts of the hand
I got a 3 oz. tin of Burt's Bees Hand Salve as part of a gift basked with a variety of Burt's Bees products. According to the Burt's Bees web site, the 3 oz. tin of normally sells for $8. That may seem like a lot, but you'll see that a 3 oz. tin can ...
Pros: Works very well and in multiple ways. Pleasant scent. Cons: Price.
Over the hump with number six in my “Get 10 more in before the 10-4-10 promo ends”. This is my experience with Burt's Bees Hand Salve. I bought a variety kit of Burt’s Bees (BB) stuff back in April and am finally getting around to ...
Pros: works great, makes hands soft and smooth, younger looking Cons: smell may over power some, pricey
For some reason, most likey age, the past year or two during the winter I have had extremely dry hands. They sometimes crack and they hurt and I am always looking for a way to keep my hands soft, smooth, and well moisturized. Burt's Bees ...
Pros: Thick, petroleum-jelly-like consistency to coat upset skin. Nice smell. Cons: Greasy residue if you touch anything after applying it. Pricey.
This product intrigued me with the word salve in the name, as well as the fact that it is a Burt's Bees item, which I love. My skin on my hands gets very dry and irritated, so I liked the salve quality to repair my skin. The smell is distinctive and ...
Used it for years until they hiked the price to 5.99 (at least) by tonystuff ,Nov 12 '09
Pros: Heavy, smooth, it works Cons: Medicine smell (boyfriend hated it), EXPENSIVE, greasy.
I loved this product and it is not for everyone. The older I get, the drier my skin seems to get, especially during the Michigan winter months. I started using it in the winter but it became a really good moisturizer for the night, after I take a shower and before I go to bed. By morning, the stuff is really in my skin. I used it faithfully and gave it for gifts to all my friends until the price sky-rocketed. So I did some research and found a lot of people liking this Burt Bee's Salve but moving over to BagBalm because of the cheaper cost. So that is what I did. I use BagBalm at least five times a day now, since I work in a factory and wash my hands about 5 times a day, and now I give Bag Balm as gifts to my friends. Burt's Bees Hand Salve cost starts about $2/ounce, while Bag Balm cost starts about .50 cents/ounce. As much as I like Burt's Hand Salve, it is just too expensive for me, especially during these bad economic times.
Ideal for night treatment, daytime not so much by bethseda ,Jan 19 '08
Pros: Effective, nutrient-enriched Cons: Greasy, contains beeswax so not safe for individuals with bee allergy
I love Burt's products. And this hand salve will definitely help with dry, cracked hands (though the cracks might sting a little bit). I bought it because as a hairstylist, my hands are in water all day long.
However, this is NOT a practical treatment if you're handling papers, pens, knives, scissors, or anything involving working with your hands. It is incredibly thick and greasy and gets all over everything. On top of that, the texture of it basically requires that you apply a generous amount to your skin because it doesn't really spread out like a lotion, but that's the difference between lotion and salve. The smell is also not the greatest, but that's strictly personal preference.
However, again! This product works GREAT if you apply a generous amount just before going to bed. This gives your skin plenty of time to absorb nutrients and rebuild itself. And, of course, it is naturally based so you know that your skin is getting the real, healthy nutrients it craves.
