Pros: Canon name, 3 quality modes, does ok in low light, sdhc support Cons: Batteries expensive in the store, need bigger cards.
A friend of mine wanted to get into video taping and asked me about still cameras with video capabilities. I talked him into a video camera since that's primarily what he was going to be doing with it. I'd previously researched a few of these, generally ...

Pros: Small size, quality construction, high power zoom Cons: Poor low light recording, uncommon recording format, basic included software
We ordered this camcorder for Christmas and have been using it several months now. So far I'm fairly happy with it, but there are some drawbacks that should be taken into account when considering the FS100 camcorder. Some of the "additional" ...

Happy family videos
by lwbaker ,Feb 02 '09
Pros: Great quality for the price. Easy to use. Perfect travel size. Love flash memory. Cons: No cons, unless you're a film student.
Perfect for family videos! Easy to use. Very nice quality (unless you're an aspiring film student). I appreciate the simple instructions on this camera. I recommend playing around with the camera first before using it for important events, especially if you want to adjust settings manually.

FS100 - my first digital camcorder
by eputkonen ,Jun 11 '09
Pros: * External microphone input * SDHC card (flash drive) recording, not tape or disc * Small camera Cons: * Format is MP4...and with a codec my editing software does not understand.
I was looking for a camera to start producing online video. I had lights and other equipment from my still photography days, but I wanted a camera with an external microphone input. This was an absolute requirement...but hardly any consumer grade cameras have mic inputs anymore. I also wanted a flashdrive...no tapes or discs. I bought two 8-gig SDHC cards, so I can record about 3 hours and the battery life of the camera is about 3 hours. So considering the flash drive and mic input, this was the only camera I could find without going pro-sumer can paying a lot of money.
