Pros: Great image quality at lower ISOs; manual exposure controls; quick nonflash performance. Cons: Long flash recycle time; highest ISO settings very noisy.
Summary: Canon knows not to fix what isn't broken. Was impressed with its broad suite of features, solid design, and good value. The 8-megapixel PowerShot A720 IS does little to change that formula, sticking very close to the path traveled by the A710 IS. The ... read more

Pros: Whether on the auto or manual settings, produces quality photos. Cons: Flash recycle speed slightly slow, flash output in dimly lit rooms is weak.
Summary: I am an amateur plus photographer, in that I have earned a photography certificate and love taking pictures. I am not a novice, yet I wouldn't call myself an expert in photo taking - especially digital photo shooting. Having said that, I had come to ... read more

Pros: A little smaller (2 AA's), Bigger screen, more resolution Cons: Long write to card time
Summary: Please note that this is basically a comparison between the A70 and A720 IS. I purchased the A70 in the summer of 2003. It has served me well until the sensor malfunction (for which there is a "recall"). I purchased the A720 on 12-20-2008 and received ... read more

Pros: Easy-to-learn menus and settings; quiet operation; capable of recording up to 60 minutes of video Cons: Sorta' slow regen time between flash shots
Summary: The Canon A720IS stands heads and shoulders above the (three) Olympus cameras I've used - and I found its menus and settings more user-friendly than the two Nikon Coolpix models I've handled. In the first few weeks of using this camera, I've found the ... read more

Pros: Light/pocketable high quality all purpose compact digital camera. Minor improvements over A710is Cons: ISO 1600 poor, Camera Windows software worsened, no wireless file transfer
Summary: - Premise The A720is replaces the less than two years old A710is at the same if not lower price: around 250 euro in Europe, 250$ in the US. It seems that even if nowadays 1 euro corresponds to 1,43$ the prices of electronic components in the US and EU ... read more

Pros: Versatile, not too big to carry in pocket. Very good photos, good video for non-camcorder. Cons: Battery contacts poorly designed.
Summary: I've had this camera for 3 plus years. Good all around tool, quality pictures, and good video for not a camcorder. Newer cameras are more compact than this one, but you should definitely consider picking up a used A720 IS for low
