Pros: Price, Sound quality, Volume, Ease of use, Looks Cons: Static when farther from device, No padding on earpiece
Finding a headset that works well with the PalmOne Treo 650 was rather difficult at first. It seemed that the quality of Bluetooth reception on the Treo 650 was rather lacking. However despite such shortcomings, I still wanted to have a Bluetooth headset ...
Pros: Sound quality, price, comfort, easy to use Cons: Occasional static, intermittently stops working
Bluetooth headsets are cool and geeky at the same time. While it's really cool to be able to talk on the phone without wires or hands, face it, you look like a geek wearing a device attached to your ear that makes you look like you just got off a ...
Pros: Price. Comfortable. Loud speaker. Battery life. Price. Looks cool. Lots of extras. Price. Cons: Count on some static. Half duplex. Some features don't work with the Treo 650.
After doing TONS of research on a sea of bluetooth headsets, I couldn't help asking myself: was there really a time when things were simple? When there wasn't so much decision-making to be done? Before the phrase "paper or plastic"? Couldn't there ...
Pros: Featherweight, clean sound, long battery life Cons: Lights too bright, position of multi-function wheel can't get into standby mode from Automatic
I researched for about 700 centuries before I bought this headset (give or take) and I want to give a fairly detailed review of it since I really havent seen any (especially for the ones with the 2.5 mm adapter). Function The scala ...
Pros: Voice quality, wind cancelation, volume, battery life, included goodies. Cons: Inconsistent range/static, true of all Bluetooth headsets.
I have owned a Cardo Scala 500 for nearly 2 years, so hopefully this review will tell you how it is to own this device in the real world over time. My first taste of Bluetooth was my brother's Sony Ericsson cell phone & Bluetooth headset combo. I ...
Pros: Small, light, good performance, great glasses clip, Windstop, works perfect with my Nokia 6820 Cons: CAN'T DO MULTIPLE PAIRING, ear clip didn't work well for me, changing stand is loose
After a lot of research, I ended up deciding between this headset and the Logitech Freedom Mobile headset. Since I couldn't find the Freedom Mobile headset for the price I wanted (out of stock) I ended up with this for only $3 more. Two main reasons I ...
Pros: The Scala 500 greatly enhances cell phone useage. Cons: Another device to keep charged up.
Everyone is aware of the potential hazards of using a cell phone while driving. Cell phone users have experienced the problems of holding the phone to the ear while not in a quiescent sitting down mode. Some us more clumsy types have inadvertently ...
Pros: Small. Car charger included. Customer service. Cons: Sound quality. Battery life.
Appearance The Cardo Scala 500 is equipped with a large, bright, flashing blue light that flashes non-stop from the time you turn it on. Sometimes I feel like I'm a walking K-Mart Blue Light Special. I recently purchased a lower priced ...
Pros: See summary - all good comments on this unit Cons: None
I have had four different Bluetooth headsets so far (two Jabras, an Epox HS-02, and the Scala), and this one is by far the best I've tried. 1) It has actually lasted several weeks without breaking, which is more than I can say about the competition (I ...
Pros: - Price
- End Call and Voice Memo functionality via 2.5 mm adapter Cons: - Sound quality
- Distance ability
- Battery life
- Unecessarily complicated
After reading several reviews of this product, both the headset and the headset with 2.5 mm adapter for non-Bluetooth phones, I thought I'd give it a shot. First of all, the vast majority of reviews are only for the headset. One thing to keep in mind ...
Pros: Superior sound quality, comfort, ease of use. Cons: On/Off button must be held for a few seconds.
As a gadget perfectionist, I tested a number of bluetooth headsets to go with my Motorola MPX220, including many I tried at the manufacturer's booths during the Consumer Electronics Show, January 2006. I rate the Cardo Scala 500 #1 in the following categories:
1. Comfort. Others I tested hurt my ears due to weight or design.
2. Ease of use. Press 1 large button to answer or end a call.
3. Sound quality. Many people at other end of my calls have said it sounds better than a corded phone. Outdoors on a windy day it's not perfect but it beat the $80 & $100 units I tried.
Based on my findings, several friends have purchased one and agreed with my choice.
WARNING: Do not buy it from ecost.com because you may not receive what's advertised and when you try to return it for a refund, you'll run into "Mission Impossible" roadblocks.
Pros: Great fit. light weight. Does not get hot Cons: Cracking sound sometimes. Only one pairing allowed.
I got the system to work with my cellphone T610 and my computer. It works really well, except it sometimes, in low signal zones gives a cracking noise. Its a comfortable piece to wear. I have not been able to figure out how to get it to charge in the car yet. Even though only one pairing is allowed at a time, one you have paired with multiple devices, all you have to do is to connect it from that device rather than the headset , and it works perfectly.
My first Bluetooth Headset... by dreammaker182 ,Jul 05 '06
Pros: light weight, great battery life, great audio, competitive price Cons: no external LCD caller ID, blinking light can not be turned off during use.
I am using the Scala 500 with a Motorola V360 and it works great! Though I haven't really had much experience with using the headset in different environments; it is a great accessory. The Scala 500 is also fairly easy to use and is light weight allowing it to be worn on glasses using a special clip. It's light weight, fairly comfortable and has good volume. The headset can also be worn on a provided belt clip and neck band.
I personally have experienced little static when using the device. The majority of static that I encountered while using the headset was experienced when I used it with the phone in a different room; about 20ft away and through a couple walls. Since I usually charge it at night; I haven't had much of a problem with battery life.
The only thing that I don't like about the Scala 500 is that the blinking light can not be turned off during use.
Decent, inexpensive Bluetooth Headset by sonjamin ,Feb 10 '06
Pros: Easy pairing, super tight fit for an loop type of headset Cons: Staticy when the volume is turned up high, control button a bit small.
The pairing of the Cardo is a breeze with the Motorola V551. The fit is great. Allows me to turn my head, without feeling like it will flop about. Call quality was ok and no complaints about battery life. Overall a decent deal for $35.
Stay away from this one by elvisisalive ,Oct 26 '05
Pros: It was cheap Cons: I didn't work
This thing was horrible! Extremely scratchy sound quality, and worse, the sound degrades even more when you turn your head! Finally, it won't maintain a connection for anywhere near the 30 feet that Bluetooth devices are supposed to support. The connection will extend maybe 6 feet, so don't forget to put your phone in your pocket. If you leave your phone on your desk/counter and walk away, you'll lose the connection.
After trying this out, I can't see a single reason to buy one of these.
