What Do I Need USB-to-Serial For?

Pros: Excellent method of getting legacy serial hardware to work on your new USB-ported Macintosh.
Cons: Drivers seem just a little flaky, but have been improved over the last two revisions.
To be honest, I need it because I have a lot of old hardware that depends on serial ports for communication.
