Pros: PRICE PRICE PRICE for a great unit Cons: Manual is lacking
I received the Caliber P 3600 as a Christmas gift....sort of. My wife told me she wanted to buy me a gps but didn't know which one. Good thing, neither did I. I tried to research them as best I could. I've noticed this isn't an easy task. I really ...
Pros: good price, nice screen Cons: voice guidance did not work, nonexistent customer service
I purchased 2 Caliber P-3600 GPS units. On neither one would the voice guidance work. There was nothing wrong with the volume, because we could get music to play. We followed the manual instructions, made sure the voice guidance option was selected, but ...
Pros: Fast routing and re-routing with good voice prompts Cons: Maps are loaded on SD card, does not allow VIA points
When I first opened the box, it took about 1-2 minutes to lock onto my position. After the initial time, it now only takes around 20 seconds to get my position. The unit uses Navteq mapping witch produced very good routing and quick re-routing when I ...
Pros: Doesn't require an unobstructed view of the sky in order to work flawlessly. Clear Maps Cons: Nothing at all!
I shouldn't even bother putting that "for the money" blurb in the title. My wife bought this unit for me as a x-mas gift.. She just can't keep things a secret and gave it to me early. I am a typical guy who refuses to read the enclosed instructions. ...
Pros: Worked good when it got here.
Cons: When it needed service, the company was never heard from again.
The unit worked great out of the box. It was fairly intuitive to use. However after 9 months of use the touch screen failed to work and after many unsuccessful email attemts to contact their customer service department (they don't accept phone calls) I'm probably going to throw it in the trash even though I'm sure it could be repaired. Buy a Garmin and know that they will service what they sell.
This Unit Is A Sleeper In The Most Positive Way by tnvol1 ,Dec 06 '07
Pros: Everything about the P-3600 is positive. Cons: None
I purchased two of these for each of us. These units have performed flawlessly. I sent Caliber(SphereTeq)an email asking why the voice guidance was absent. Within 24 hours I received a very nice response and solution which was to reload the SD card with the included DVD. I couldn't ask for any better tech support.
We are really pleased with these units.
Great unit, great price by sopperthauser ,Mar 17 '08
Pros: Fast calc and recalc, simple to use, great screen, fantastic options. Unbelievable value! Cons: No exterior volume control. Lacking customer service.
Unfortunately, Epinions does not picture the correct photo of the unit on their website.
However, this unit is GREAT! Simple to use, beautiful screen, great POI's, fast, all around wonderful.
I did initially have a problem with the voice guidance - it did not work. I simply downloaded the CD ROM onto a higher quality SD Card and is now working perfectly.
I paid $100 for the unit. I have compared it to Garmin, Tomtom, and Magellan and find it to meet or exceed any of them. Though customer service is lacking, I highly recommend this GPS!
Pros: Readable screen
Customizeable screen
GREAT size (really small)
Very accurate
Good detour routes
Cons: None for the price if it cost more I would have opted for RTTI (traffic)
I wouldnt have probably even bough NAV if it hadn't been on sale for $99 at PC Connection. But for 100 bucks i figured it was worht a try. Its A nice package good touch screen reasonably fast (45 sec to aquire) good batery life (2-3 hours). Couple of glitches - said to insert SD card on start up but it was already in did this a couple times and then i reset it and its been fine since. There was no voice nav but an email to support had me reload the voices from the CD and everything worked fine then (files were on the SD but were 0KB in size ???)
NAVTEQ Maps
GREAT accessories (12V + wall charger) good suction mount
Pros: Price, voice guidance, screen clarity Cons: screen size but amazing for this price
Hi, i just purchased caliber p-3600 2 days before. The Caliber P-3600 looks really cute. The screen is good. I purchased this one in pc connection for $120. I dont think that I could get any other device for this price.
I was upset when the voice guidance didn't work.. I had the same problem like many people had with this GPS. I looked for the contact number in manufacturer website. Those stupid people didn't even put a contact number in their website. they only had an e-mail id. Then i called pc connection.. he suggested me to reinstall the software in the SD card. the problem with the voice guidance was sorted out when i reinstalled the software. now everything is fine and the GPS works graet now. I am happy with the purchase....
Great Value and Excellent Performance by dellago ,Dec 10 '06
Pros: Great looking maps - that work well. Excellent support! Cons: None significant
Hadn't heard of Caliber before - but I'm sure glad I found this one. What a nice product!! Performs as well, if not better, than the much higher-priced premium brands. Called their support department for a quick tip and receive rapid and professional advice. What a great navigation device.
Do Not Buy! Customer Service is non-existent! by jimjokjv ,Jun 27 '08
Pros: Looks pretty! Cons: Difficult to use.
No Customer Support.
Gets you lost.
I have owned my P-3600 for about 1 year and it really is a major disappointment.
While driving down the I-17 in Arizona it kept trying to get me to turn left although I was on the programmed route. Also, it kept showing my car being off the highway by some 100 feet or more - this isn't a country side road we are talking about here.
Navigating with this unit can be full of surprises. It will send you on repeated turns off the easiest route and sometimes ask you to turn away from your intended destination.
I have tried repeatedly to make contact with customer service and technical support to no avail.
Trying to sell one of these is almost impossible because there is no product support where people can get answers and help when needed.
