Pros: Well Built, Quality Shafts, Very Long, Very Straight, "An Idiot Proof Swat Machine." Cons: Very Pricey. Cannot Shape Shots. Definitely Need To Be Fitted./Opti-Fit Isn't Everywhere.
This is definitely designed by some guy in Callaway's Research Dept. named Max Forgiveness. It forgives just about any swing you care to put on it. So if you feel like Charlie Brown while setting up your ball at the first tee, and your swing often does a ...
Pros: Straightens out the off center shots. Choice of 3 different heads to fit your swing. Cons: It sounds flat compared to conventional drivers, it lacks the sharp ping and loud echo.
Callaway has lead the driver field with new technology ever since they came out with the Big Bertha. The designers and engineers from Callaway really pushed the envelope on this new driver. The shape of this driver, square, is extremely ...
Pros: Easy to Hit Straight Drives, Feels Good to Swing Cons: Expensive, Little Workability, Takes A While To Get Used to the Look
Of all the innovations to grace golf clubs over the last couple of years, I never would have guessed club designers would change the head shape of the driver so dramatically. Of the recent breakthroughs in driver design technology, the majority of it has ...
Pros: Very forgiving, builds confidence, straighter drives Cons: $500.00 price tag
Brick on a stick? Perhaps that's an exaggeration, but the fact remains that the Callaway Fusion FT-i Driver is one of the most unusual looking drivers to come down the pike in a long time. This driver arrived in our pro shop on February 15, 2007, ...

Pros: Great stability, looks more natural than the Nike square driver. Cons: Harder to shape shots than with a traditional driver.
Not to be left behind by the Nike SuMo2 driver, Callaway is planning on releasing a square shaped driver as well. The FTi is a combination of the Fusion Technology that Callaway has made famous with the geometry that has been researched by club designers ...
Pros: Just point and shoot. It will find the fairway. Cons: Halfway trough $1k sounds like a LOT of money.
To think that I felt "weird" when testing that big, ugly and "boxy" 460 Cleveland Launcher a few years ago...I really dont know what to expect next. Having avoided the carbon offerings from Callaway since the terrible C4, I must say that hitting the FT5 ...
Pros: Long & Straight, all the time!
Toe, center or heal doesn't matter! Cons: Cost = $499.99, I mean come on. . . did I mention it costs $499.99.
Me: Age 41, play 9 holes the same course once a week and maybe 9 holes on other courses once a month throughout Connecticut golf season. Regular driver is an Adams 363, 9.5 deg, stiff shaft, average drive 220-230 yards. On the range: I took out ...
Pros: Straighter, consistent, responds to good tempo Cons: Price
All of the comments I've read about this driver centered around the concept of straight drives. Several commentators had the audacity to say that it "makes it difficult to shape shots"...like a 15 handicapper is worried about that. Staying on the short ...
Sacrifice distance, is it worth it? by jwnholmes ,Mar 30 '08
Pros: Straight (ish) Cons: Unable to work the ball
Poor distance
That horrible sound
Review of a 9.5 degree Ft-i
When you first set up with a square driver it is a leap of faith as the unconventional head does seem a little off putting at first. That is nothing however to the dreadful contact noise at first when the ball flies off the club head. its hard to describe but it isn't a lot different to a game played on the beach with tambourine style bats and hard ball !
The most noticeable thing about the club however is the reduction in distance. Generally about 10% shorter than my current driver (r7 superquad). Basically it doesn't go far enough to get off the fairway.
The FT-i driver from Callaway Golf represents a quantum leap in driver design. With the revolutionary 460cc Complete Inertial Design, the FT-i Driver ...More at Golfio.com
