Pros: Great look and feel. Can work the ball well. Less offset. Great price. Cons: Less forgiving than other Callaway models.
I was playing with Taylor Made LCGs for awhile and I decided to give it a change. I looked at Ping i3, Taylor Made 300 series, and Callaway's Big Bertha irons and their X-14s. After taking them out to the range, I decided that these would be the clubs...
Pros: forgiving , handsome, long, straight Cons: none to speak of
The Callaway company has come up with another great set of clubs. These clubs are for the better player seeking more workablity with the golf ball , but still posess the forgivingness that Callaway is so famous for.
Pros: Long, straight, forgiving and sexy lookin..:0} Cons: expensive but worth it
The summer season is here and its time to hit the links. As I drag my clubs out of the closet and blow away the dust, I am haunted by images of last seasons embarrassing form and know I need something to reinstate some confidence. Down to my local...
Pros: head weight, grips, price, and the short iron are forgiving Cons: long irons arent forgiving as much, shaft weight, and not as much feel as expected
I bought these clubs at a golf shop after trying out dozens of different types of clubs. Although these clubs werent THE best out there, they were the best value. these clubs have really worked for me, but as a golfer who is gradually getting better, it ...
Pros: solid feel at impact, lower trajectory,...sensational feel at impact..ideal flight pattern Cons: none
I'll admit I am a club junkie. I can be lured into buying just about anything as long as its a top brand, I.e. Ping, Mizuno, or Callaway. I am a low handicap golfer ( single digit) and have owned most of them including Mizuno MP33's. After playing with C ...
Pros: Great balance.Solid feel.Perfect weighting. Cons: Pricey.
Wow! My long search for a great set of irons is finally over. There is a lot of tech mumbo jumbo that goes along with any sort of high end sporting equipment but as far as I'm concerned feel is the most important. Every golfer is different and every...
If you don't have them go get them by callaway4life ,Nov 23 '05
Pros: Beautiful in looks, easy to work the ball, fantastic distance control, spin, great feel. Cons: I can't be buried with them.
These are one of the best clubs ever built by Callaway (or any company). I have played Ping, Ben Hogan, Wilson, Taylor Made and component sets. I have played the X 14 pro series for about 2 years. My handicap dropped from 15 to 9. Shots are so awesome. I can fade the ball, hook the ball, low shot, high shot simply by making minor swing or grip changes. The club does the rest. Now for the best part. I bought these clubs from Callaway Pre-owned. So far they have adjusted the lie 2 degrees up...no charge, replaced the ferrels...no charge, replaced the grips with Callaway Winn Grips...no charge. Their customer service is beyond description. I will forever play Callaway equipment. I highly recommend you try these babies out. I am tempted to buy the new X 18 but I can't bring myself to give these babies up. What do they say...if it ain't broke, don't fix it. If they allow, I will provide my email address to anyone who wants verification.
Love the irons - improved my game night and day by wraysby ,Aug 26 '06
Pros: Well balanced, smooth, comfortable! Cons: Nothing with the irons - only the golfer :-).
I have been playing regular golf for the last 5 years. This was the first year I decided to get some professional one-on-one coaching from a local golf pro. I identified a local recommended pro and the first lesson focused on the clubs I WAS using. I know they say the clubs don't make the golfer - but for me it was a HUGE difference. The pro had several different irons from various manufacturers and we took them out for several swings. After about 30 minutes of trying several the Callaway X-14's with graphite shafts continued to feel very smooth, well balanced and extremely comfortable. The pro let me take them for the week and I played 3 rounds of 18 like I had never played before. I bought them and have never looked back. My game continues to get better and the confidence from the Callaway X-14's are a huge part of that.
A great pick-up even if used. by zulbok ,Jun 30 '05
Pros: Less offset than most clubs, wider club face, smooth feel, CHEAP, aesthetically pleasing Cons: An older set, (That's about it)
I just recently picked the X-14s from Callaway at a Second Swing which sells used clubs, and I'll tell you I havent hit the ball this well in awhile. For the price, I couldn't have asked for a better result. The Callaway clubs aren't as offset as many of the clubs today which helps me put the ball higher on my approach shot, but also cuts down my slice with the 4 and 5 irons. But not only am I hitting the higher, which I prefer to do, but I am also hitting it longer. My 7 iron distance has jumped from 160 to 175 yds. I feel it is due to the wider club face. If I could afford the X-18s I would buy them but if you are like me and play golf for enjoyment and wish not to spend the big bucks, these clubs will improve your game for a reasonable value. Go get these now unless you can afford the X-18s.
Pros: fits my glove and hand well Cons: Is a little heavy to swing
Every golfer is different . But I think that when you get a product like this we all will agree you have something special. the weight for the club is a little heavy and you get good distance with it.So go for it . The constance of my game is better also. And I think yours will be too.
