Woof ... Growwwwllll ... Woof ... Pant,pant, pant ... Arf ... Arf ... Arf !!!

by fountain-head , Jan 18 '03
Pros: "Jozie" gobbles it like dog-candy, high quality - ALL NATURAL - ingredients
Cons: More $$$$ than COSTCO's dump-truck-sized sack of Kirkland dog food.
Thats the happy enthusiasm expressed by our lovable 1-1/2 year old, 92-lb, Bernese Mountain Dog - JOZIE ... when she sees her food bowl being filled.

But wait ... before JOZIE can run to her bowl ... she must "SIT", "STAY", ... "GOOD GIRL" ......

Now He Won't Eat Any Other Food!

by adrienne10 , Jun 15 '07
Pros: apparently very tasty for the dog, healthy, not a part of recall, price
Cons: may be hard to find locally
For the 21 months we have had our Boxer, Dargo, he has eaten high quality (called human quality) dry dog food. I am a zealot about letting my dog eat table scraps and non-dog food. I do the dog duties around here, and I know that the people food make ...

Good ingredients, probiotics, healthy food!

by kimberlykub , Dec 19 '06
Pros: Good ingredients, natural preservatives and probiotics. One food for puppy to senior, including overweight dogs.
Cons: We don't have any.
I have a Goldendoodle and felt he was a little on the thin side, so I started researching dog foods. I found that what he was on, was not really good for him. The second ingredient was ground corn and I found out that shouldn't be in the dog food at ...

A Great Premium Food

by amontgomery , Mar 20 '02
Pros: High quality ingredients
Cons: Expensive
My 16 lb. cockapoo, Friday, was on Pro Plan (chicken formula) for the first nine years of her life. She was never quite excited about eating dinner, however, and I often added table food to her bowl just to get her to eat. Although I learned...

Canidae: Good food, good value

by kristina3535 , Apr 30 '07
Pros: Great ingredients, not as pricey as most premium brands
Cons: Can be hard to find, picky eaters may not go for it
I like to find out everything I can about nearly anything...hence, when I was getting a puppy years ago, I did a LOT of research on dog foods, and asked a LOT of people for personal opinions. Canidae was highly recommended though difficult to find, I ...

My dog eats better than my kids!

by BadgerGirl , Jun 19 '01
Pros: Human grade ingredients
Cons: Cost, availability
I started my yellow lab on Iams large breed puppy because that's what the breeder suggested. Iams is an ok food, however they've gone through some owner changes and the quality of the food just doesn't seem to be quite what it used to be. In addition,...

Pet thrives on this exceptional food

by mjgroff , Nov 15 '00
Pros: Enjoyed by pet and clearly improves health
Cons: none
Some people "fuel" their dogs for a lifetime on the cheapest food available and their is no obvious harm. And at $10 for a 40 lb bag, they have an economic incentive. The same people would argue that their mother smoked, ate bacon, butter and...

So Far, So Good!

by skatoulaki , Sep 07 '05
Pros: Human grade ingredients; few, if any, fillers.
Cons: None that I've encountered so far!
When I was researching what kind of dog to get and had settled on a Boxer, I joined a couple of Boxer forums and soon learned about the various foods available. I decided to go with Canidae as it is the one that came most highly recommended on one ...

Pros: Healthy skin and coat! Great Protein sources!
Cons: None that I can see!
When we adopted our German Shorthaired Pointer at 2 years old last February, he was painfully thin and had a VERY poor coat! The foster care parents had him eating Purina Puppy Chow...nuf said. At the time that we brought him home I was feeding my Jack ...

Skip it and move on to Innova

by jmclain , Dec 16 '02
Pros: Keeps them from starving...
Cons: ...not by much!
Canidae was recommended by a couple of folks when I was looking for a quality food, so I tried a few bags. I used it for ~6 months to make sure the problems weren't just the girls' systems adjusting to new food. They weren't.

Their coats,...

Outstanding results for dog suffering from allergies

by vizslas4us , Sep 17 '03
Pros: Canidae = Quality, healthy, happy dogs. Excellent for problem skin/coats.
Cons: None
We breed and raise Hungarian Vizslas. Our oldest darling has suffered for years with allergies. She was endlessly scratching and was miserable. Her coat was not shiny at all. Her hair felt coarse and it was always flaking. We tried different foods and ta ...

by maddi88 , Jan 18 '07
Pros: I seriously believe this saved my dog. Need I say more?
Cons: Not available in toy-size dog kibbles.
Words cannot express how wonderful this food is. I adopted a cocker spaniel a year ago, and during the first 6 months we were constantly at the vet as he kept losing more and more weight and getting sicker and sicker. His little ribs were sticking out ...
