Pros: Comfortable eye-pieces, compact, Image Stabilization system Cons: Environmental limitations in use, no caps for objective lenses
Something strange happened to me last summer. After a lifetime of ignoring the birds (except the hummingbirds) around me, I suddenly became consumed with the pleasures of feeding and watching them. In the space of a few weeks, my five hummingbird ...
Pros: Light weight, easy to use and prevents irritating binocular movement Cons: Would love to see a variable zoom like 10x-45x
Finally Epinions have added more products to an area in which I love. Photography and binoculars! I have been requesting more products like photofinishing, photographic print/slide films, external camera flashes and other photographic accessories. ...
Pros: rock solid stabilization, wide field, sharp optics Cons: clumsy inter-ocular adjustment, lack of lens covers
I purchased the Canon 10x30IS binoculars for parts. You see, I planned to take them apart to use the optics, gyros and stabilizers for another project. But after experiencing the sharp images, wide field of view and active image stabilization, I can't...
Pros: Good optics, reasonably priced, image stabilization works well Cons: lack of objective lens caps, IS feature drains batteries (lithiums recommended), IS feature takes a couple of seconds to fully "spin up" if binoculars have been idle.
These are an excellent value. I'm very happy with my pair. Not even taking the image stabilization into account, the optics are sharp and clear. The color correction is very good and the images are quite bright for only 30mm of aperture. Focusing is...
Pros: wow factor, sharpness, wide view, images that float in front of you like magic. Cons: keeping IS button pressed a pain, no objective covers (case helps), focussing a little tricky
A grad student tried a pair of these Canon image stabilized binoculars at an observatory's star party and while he thought the binocs were very fine, he didn't agree with all the other astronomers around him that they were that much better than normal ...
Pros: The stabilization feature is well matched for boating applications where one’s footing is never stable. Cons: There is no option for front lens caps and the rear caps are easily dislodged.
This product and the technology are relatively old and another review may be a bit redundant. However, my experience and usage is somewhat different from the other reviewers. I fish the Pacific offshore waters from Oregon to British Columbia and the ...
Pros: IS works great, great optics and clarity, like having a tripod in your hands at all times. Cons: IS button has to be held down (big woop)no objective covers
These are by far the best purchase I have made probaly (ever).I am amazed more and more every time I use them, more now than the first time I used them.I see a lot of negetive respone on the button has to be pushed to activate the IS.I find this a ...
Pros: Light, easy focus, comfortable to handle, unbelievable clarity. Cons: It takes an hour or two of viewing and practice to get best results.
These binoculars are great. Forget everyone elses technical analysis and enjoy the view. For over a decade I have went through a variety of binoculars and telescopes that were either bulky, hard to focus, or difficult to hold steady when overlooking ...
Pros: great magnification, great lens quality, easy to use. Cons: expensive
Last weekend my family and I went on a vacation to Washington and went hiking there, of course with these binoculars. These binoculars were great! We could see things miles away and with very very clear vision. The knobs were easy to adjust which is a...
Amazing, but watch for a fatal defect by dahc ,May 11 '05
Pros: Very clear images, easy on the eyes. Our standard 8x40s are now obsolete. Cons: No objective lens caps, check for possible fatal defects
I have purchased two of these amazing binoculars for birding by my wife and me. We are quite willing to live within the limitations of avoiding high humidity and high altitude because we can see so much better than standard 8x40s.
However, one pair proved defective and had to be replaced. The defect has been mentioned in a previous review here. When the unit is activated, the prism shifts left and the image is slightly blurred. The image stays this way and does not become clear or stabilized whether the unit is activated or not. I thought the cause might be weak batteries but fresh ones had the same result. Therefore, test the unit before you leave the store, there are some bad ones out there.
Canon 10x30 IS Binoculars by woody1943 ,Jan 08 '04
Pros: Outstanding optics, ease of use. Cons: There is no on button that stays on.
I can not believe the views and images of this outstanding binocular! Every time I use them: the images blows my socks off! These really resets the standards for viewing the heavens or any where else! I would give them six (6) stars!
