Pros: Terrific color, fast printing, oversized prints Cons: b&w takes FOREVER - only complaint!
Canon has a terrific printer which can showcase your images with enlargements up to 13 x 19 inches. The price is a bit high for those who have been using those inexpensive units from the office stationers or local department stores, but at approximately ...

Great Printer - Beautiful Prints
by newpappa ,Sep 12 '08
Pros: Beautiful, high quality prints. Cons: So far the only con is the size of the printer itself.
My mother-in-law gave me this printer last year as a birthday present and I absolutely love the print quality. Photography is a big hobby of mine and I take a lot of macro images of insects and garden plants. The 13"x19" prints are very nice and high quality. Smaller prints also have the same excellent quality and it is very easy to change the printer to accommodate larger or smaller prints. I haven't tried black and white printing like the other reviewer but I have found the Canon 9000 Pro to be quite fast in printing color photographic prints. The only drawback to this printer is that it is large and takes up a good bit of space. It is 26" wide.

Unreliable
by fertree ,Sep 11 '09
Pros: the prints looked nice Cons: Mine was a piece of junk and waste of $800
After 20 hours of use over one year the printer stopped working. It seems the print head went out, frying the main board. The service center (Canon authorized) recommended the trash bin. At most I made 50 prints over the year, making the cost about $15 per print. A little expensive for my taste.

Canon printer is fast, quiet and dependable
by jimmich ,Sep 13 '08
Pros: Very quiet and fast. 'Timing off' feature is great! Cons: Only one black cartrige. B&W printing is slow and terrible.
Canon PIXMA Pro9000 Inkjet printer replaced my Epson 2200 because of the Epson's continually dry printer head. The cCanon has a flat top - easy to stack things on. It's footprint is fairly large but stable. The recessed power port is difficult to access and having the USB port on the other side of the printer is awkward.
The automatic power-off feature is nice and it's very handy to have the ink cartridge head move into a refill position when the lid is lifted. Ink cartridges are very easy to replace. Strangely, It's preset paper-size settings do not include 11x14. All-in-all, it's a very good printer.
