Pros: Easy to use, Small, Light weight, Great features. Cons: Kit Lens is unpredictable.
I bought the Digital Rebel XT as an entry level DSLR. Its small, light weight, compact, and stuffed full of features that allows even the most basic and new of photographers to take beautiful pictures. It has basic automatic modes, you can turn this ...

Pros: Price, weight, size, battery life, shutter lag. Cons: Confusing at first, size, flash isn't great, lens isn't too great. Compact Flash
Before I start my review I would like you to know that I try not to focus on the features, capabilities, etc. of the object I am reviewing since it can be readily found in other reviews or in the details tab of the object. For example, if I review a ...

Pros: Quality pics, 8mp, light, many features, all around great camera for the price. Cons: flash may get sticky, plastic body(not an issue with me though)
This review is from a relatively new photography hobbyist joining the world of Digital SLR's, for anyone in the same shoes looking to get into DSLR cameras. I longed for a camera that i could grow with, and learn, hoping one day to learn more about ...

Pros: Canon CMOS Sensor. Cons: No Spot Metering, Somewhat Cheap Feel.
Again, let me say that I wont address most specs unless I find a lot of confusion being caused by other reviews so for the most part this will be based solely on my opinion of the camera as this truly will be based on my personal experience owning ...

Pros: Fast shutter, nice lens, high-quality images, really too many features to list. Cons: Heavy, somewhat large. No view finder. Photographer-oriented manual, with much technical jargon.
OK, first off, I'm not a photographer, just a regular Joe who couldn't stand missing special moments waiting for the shutter of my crappy point and shoot to open and close. The delay was maddening and the results, so-so. So, I decided to plunk down ...

Pros: Inexpensive, advanced features, RAW mode Cons: Small plastic body; Controls in awkward position
I've had this camera about 3 years now. It has served me very well. It is a basic, digital single lens reflex camera that is great for getting started with more advanced photography techniques. This camera has a number of automatic shooting modes, which ...

Pros: Quick start-up time and shutter speeds Cons: bulky, won't fit in the pocket!
Being a new mother, I was getting sick and tired of missing those "Kodak Moments" with my slow digital camera. I knew I had to do something about it. So I went online and searched for another alternative. I first saw this camera when my friend's ...

Pros: uses Canon lenses; excellent speed and battery life Cons: need a separate flash
This camera does everything I want it to do, plus a lot of things I don't even use (unfortunately). The lens it comes with is a handy size for snapshots, and my other Canon lenses fit this body as well. I recommend this for people who are upgrading to ...

Pros: Nothing better for the 800-900$ price range. Cons: Silver?? Come on.. It should only come in black.
I love this camera. I've had it for about 2 months now and I am using it in my college photography class. It takes absolutely stunning pictures, my mom is a digital camera freak and she has bought a new digital camera every year almost since they came ...

Pros: 8.0 megapixels, super ergonomics, great battery life Cons: No ISO 50 sensitivity setting, slow f3.5 maximum aperture on EF-S 18-55mm zoom
Entry-level digital SLRs are a relatively new product that provides serious amateur photographers and budget conscious semi pros with affordable access to the world of interchangeable lenses and the expanded capabilities and versatility of modular ...

Pros: Low cost, extendable, quality lenses Cons: Lightweight, plastic
Canon Rebel XT, the sibling of the dSLR that started it all. The Rebel XT brought the 20D’s resolution to the Rebel’s plastic body. While not a bad camera for the money - $700 was the best street price I found WITH the 18-55mm lens, the Rebel XT does ...

Pros: It’s a great product, but is it really $809 great? Cons: If you're a nail-biter, the tiny buttons may be a problem
Canon and Nikon have been running neck and neck in the camera industry for a long time before the digital camera. With the Canon Digital Rebel XT, Cannon takes the lead once again. Lighter and smaller than the Canon Digital Rebel / EOS-300D, the newer ...

Pros: Rebel has auto pop up flash, wide range of Canon lenses & accessories. Cons: Lacks the build quality and features of Maxxum 5D.
I posted this same review elsewhere on the web, but thought I should share here as well the recent experience I had using both the Rebel XT and Konica-Minolta Maxxum 5D for a few days. I find both comparable in weight and holding. In terms of build ...

Very impressive
by lasivian ,Jul 23 '06
Pros: Awesome in almost every way. Cons: A few minor drawbacks.
My last camera was a Casio QV-10 I paid 500$ for, so I hung on for a LONG time to get something worth buying.
If you want an impressive digital, and you're going to be changing lenses to do "real" photography with macro/telephoto/tripod, etc but you don't want to shell out 1000$ or more I highly recommend it.
If you want something small that fits in a pocket, don't want to mess with lenses, don't care about photo quality then keep shopping.
The numbr of options this camera has are FAR too numerous to list here.
Drawbacks include the fact that the camera will only take RAW images when you're using non-automatic settings. (IE. if I want the camera to use automatic exposure and f-stop I can only save in High quality Jpeg, this will probably be enough for most users tho)
There is also no coating on the right-hang grip area so if it gets sweaty it tends to get slippery.
In all tho these are very minor drawbacks.

Most Bang for the Buck
by joesescort ,Mar 11 '07
Pros: Menu - easy to use and understand
Zoom - Optical..super
Weight - just heavy enough Cons: A bit pricey, but not for what you get. No cons that I have found.
My husband bought me this camera for my birthday last year. I had owned a Kodak Easy Share digital, but wanted something that would do more and we found it with the Canon Rebel. It is easy to use, I am not a professional by any stretch of the imagination.
I love my Canon Rebel! Takes super pictures, many settings which are easy to learn.
This camera was my "Most Bang for the Buck" choice.
