Most Bang for the Buck
by joesescort ,Mar 11 '07
Pros: Menu - easy to use and understand
Zoom - Optical..super
Weight - just heavy enough Cons: A bit pricey, but not for what you get. No cons that I have found.
My husband bought me this camera for my birthday last year. I had owned a Kodak Easy Share digital, but wanted something that would do more and we found it with the Canon Rebel. It is easy to use, I am not a professional by any stretch of the imagination.
I love my Canon Rebel! Takes super pictures, many settings which are easy to learn.
This camera was my "Most Bang for the Buck" choice.

Worth the investment

Pros: clear, crisp pictures with beautiful colors. Easy to use. No delay. Cons: bulky
I had the Canon G4 before this camera. When my daughter wanted her own digital camera, I gave her the G4 and bought the Rebel and I have been VERY pleased. Canon has eliminated the delay that plagues digital cameras. You can take multiple pictures in a row, which is GREAT for action shots especially. It is easy to use and takes GREAT pictures.
The only drawback to this camera is bulk. My husband took it on a trip to Ireland and it is so bulky that it becomes an annoyance to carry around when sightseeing and hiking, etc. But in that case, he should have taken the G4, which would fit in his coat pocket when not in use.
I searched EVERYWHERE for a good deal on this camera and found a vendor on ebay who has a store in NJ that bundles the camera with lots of accessories and even offers an extended warranty. The vendor is also bonded so I didn't worry about my transaction. My advice is to shop around because this is an expensive camera but it is worth it....especially if you can get the extras bundled in.

Rebel with the Rebel
by nsyed ,May 07 '09
Pros: Excellent pictures during the day time Cons: No-flash mode must be handled very carefully
I have a lot of fun using this camera. Although I am not a professional photographer, I am simply an amateur but I have no trouble figuring out how to use the basic features of the camera. Using the camera in no-flash mode results in gorgeous pictures, but a camera stand is recommended if using the camera in this mode. I bought this particular product because of what I had heard about it from other people and because I like the brand Canon. The Canon Digital Rebel XT is one of the best cameras I have ever purchased.
