Pros: Low dispersion glass, constant aperture, corner sharpness, Image Stabilization, universal zoom range Cons: Expensive, moderately fast with f/4 (for sports), can be a bit heavy
Summary: It's been over two years that my trusted EF-S 17-85 mm took the role of the universal lens and has been only recently deemed inadequate. The changing event was my upgrade from a 8 MPx camera (20D) to a 10 MPx camera (E

Pros: Image stabilised, clean crisp images, great build quality and versatile lens Cons: The price is on the expensive side
Summary: The canon EF 24-105mm f/4 IS USM L series is a great all round lens, that meets the needs of amateur and professional photograghers alike. I have been interested in photography for 6 years now and would count this lens as one of the best purchases ... read more

Pros: Sharp images, fast and easy to use. Cons: Expensive and heavy.
Summary: This wonderful lens is considered a work horse for amateur and serious photographers, and I wish I had bought it a few years earlier. Photography is my passion, and I absolutely love this lens on my Canon 7D. ... read more

Pros: Excellent Image Quality, Extremely Solid Build, 3-Stop Image Stabilizer, Nice Zoom Range Cons: Slower Maximum Aperture, Extreme Barrel Distortion at Shortest Focal Lengths, Build?
Summary: A few months ago I upgraded to a Canon EOS 5D MkII camera. I felt the need to go full-frame. As you know, my previous main walk around lens that I used with my Digital Rebel XTi was the superb Canon EF-S 17-55mm f2.8 IS ... read more

Pros: Excellent quality, consistent wide aperture, L series build, versatile focal range Cons: Slightly heavy, extends when zooming, not cheap but worth it!
Summary: Many people, like me, will have seen this lens on offer as the 'kit lens' with the brilliant Canon 5D MkII (See my other reviews for one on that camera) and will wonder whether they should buy the lens or just the body. For me it was a no-brainer: the ... read more

Pros: Ideal zoom range, excellent image quality & image stabilization. Perfect for the Eos 5D. Cons: Only suggestion, build it from Titanium for lighter weight, it is a bit front heavy.
Summary: I few months ago I purchased a Canon Eos 5D. This extraordinary camera has a full frame 24x36mm sensor. I had been using film exclusively until then. With film, I was very much a wide-angle type, generally I had a 28mm lens on my film camera all ... read more

Pros: Excellent all-around zoom range. Great quality Cons: Large and heavy, but managable
Summary: I own this lens, and it's perfect for my Canon EOS 5D. This lens has a great range for a standard walk-around lens. Even with a crop factor camera the range is pretty good, just a little more telephoto. On the wide end, there is some vignetting. I ... read more

Pros: Clarity, Color, Superfast focusing with USM, weight, image stabilizer Cons: Price (for an F/4), Flexible case which doesn't provide much protection
Summary: Canon has been an industry leader in digital photography, and this has mainly been because of the number and quality of lenses which are available. I will admit that the first lens I purchased for my EOS-10D was a Tamron 28-75 F/2.8 DI which provided ... read more

Pros: Great image quality and image stabilization. Smooth operation plus weatherproof Cons: A bit pricey and bulky for an f.4 lens
Summary: This was my first "L" lens. I bought it to replace my 5 year old Canon 28-135 which was first generation IS and starting to get noisy and vibrate. The 24-105 seems to be a winner so far. There's a reason this optic costs $1000+ as opposed to the

Pros: sharpness, zoom-range, stabilizer Cons: weight, bad bokeh
Summary: This is really a fine lens among zooms in spite of its high distorsion. The latter has a relatively favourable pattern and is correctible with Photoshop. There is no DxO plug-in as yet. The sweet spot is near 50mm as one may expect. There is some
