Pros: State of the art Professional Camera Cons: Too many Custom Functions
Ahhhh, the essence of photography! Canon coined this term for the Canon EOS-1V in one of their product brochures. I attended the Photo Marketing Association (PMA)trade show this past February 6, 2000 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. When I got...
Pros: Sealed against dirt + moisture; unsurpassed optics and autofocus system; lots of custom functions Cons: No manual film rewind lever; heavy
The Canon EOS 1V offers nearly everything the professional 35mm photographer could ever want. I say "nearly" only because I know that, by default, nothing is 100%...
I have been using Canon professional products for nearly ten years (I have...
Pros: Top of the line camera, Tons of Custom Functions, Ability to Log Data about your Photos Cons: Difficult to learn and master
The EOS-1V is the Ferrari of 35mm SLR cameras...it's sleek, powerful, and would make most serious photographers jealous. The camera is currently state-of-the-art and makes our other Canon 35mm cameras look obsolete.
Pros: Latest technology, speed, durability, reliability, work under the most extreme conditions, and PC connection. Cons: Pricey, more custom functions, more to remember if you need to use them.
INTRODUCTION
The EOS-1V is Canon’s answer to my wish list for the EOS-3, which I have earlier written a review on. This latest flagship from Canon has everything that I wanted for my EOS-3. It also addresses the many shortcomings of the...
Pros: Capabilities, durability, auto focus tracking is the best Cons: Heavy, but quit whining.
I bought the EOS-1V when my previous SLR died from over use. Plus, I needed to step up to a better grade of body and the 1V came highly recommended.
Since much of my shooting involved dirt late models across the SOUTHERN US, my cameras are exposed...
Pros: Incredibly fast, silent, great ergonomics, Indestructable Cons: Complicated, expensive
Having been a Nikon user (F5) for many years the though of making a change rarely entered my mind. F5 had been setting the standard for Pro level SLR's since 1996, it was the best right?!, WRONG! Say hello to the Baddest SLR available today. Canon...
Pros: Superb pic quality, easy to use Cons: Very expensive - but worth it!
Being a journalist, I've been in close proximity with many cameras. But none as good as the Canon EOS 1-V. You see, this simply is possibly one of the best in the world.
In fact, I'm not even sure where to start, as there are simply so many good...
Pros: Professional electronics and feel; powerful features; PC link for features Cons: A little heavy; pricey
When I first read about the features of the Canon EOS-1V, I knew it was a camera I had to have. You see, I tend to obtain all of my electronics with all the bells and whistles that I will use in the future for whatever projects which may arise. Needless...
This is the standard by which all other cameras are graded. Without a doubt the most waterproof dust proof design ever.
fast frames per second with optional booster.
A solid feel due to the titanium understaructure covered by polomer plastic...
Pros: Speed, feel, reliability, custom functions, canon's reputation Cons: Weight and price (you get what you pay for)
I have been using this camera for about a year and a half now and It is truely amazing. From the metering to the design and feel and everything in between,It is very hard to find anything to complain about.I have heard the complaints that the 1v is hard to master with all it's "bells and whistles" My reply to those complaints is nothing worth having comes easy.Study Study Study!!!!! The speed of this camera blows my mind.It allows you to shoot and keep shooting at the drop of a dime (if not faster!)
Above all the eos 1v is built at a standard seldom seen these days.Durable,Comfortable and in my opinion the best 35mm out today (have shot the Nikon f5 and eos a2).BUT...That's just MY opinion.

This camera is the bomb. The look is great. The picture is phenomenal. You could not ask for any more features. It is very reliable and easy to use and handle. The shutter speed could be compared with Minolta Maxxum 9, which has 12,000 fps. Nonetheless there is no better 35mm SLR in the U.S. market.
overall i like it looks... by viper_dt3000 ,Oct 22 '02
overall i like it looks real nice but, againit is acwardly shaped and it is realy big looking for a new model camera. i personoly like it but i have different tastes in cameras than other people.
