Pros: Fast startup, minimal shutter lag Cons: Price
I recently traded my Sony P200 for a Canon SD1100 and I haven't looked back. The camera is so light that I have carried in my shirt pocket almost constantly in the month that I have had it. I find myself taking it out all the time to snap pictures of ...
Pros: Price, size, image stabilization, looks, weight, large screen, fast operation, great photos Cons: No manual control over aperture or shutter speed
The 7.1-Megapixel Canon SD1000 was a great little camera, so when the new Canon SD1100 IS came out, I decided I wanted to get it. The new SD1100 is a 8-Megapixel camera that is similar in price to the last year’s ...
Pros: Intuitive. Pretty. Nice pictures. Easy to use without loading new software. Cons: If you are completely unfamiliar with photography terms, plan on experimenting some.
Its been years since I purchased a digital camera. The last one I had I have to be honest I couldnt figure it out and therefore, after a few times, I put it aside and its collected dust ever since. With the advances in ...
Pros: Very small, very light, very smart, easy, inexpensive, great features Cons: Only 3x optical zoom, possible screen fragility. That's about it.
Granted, my wife and I are not expert photographers. We're not tracking lions in the Serengeti, or trying to re-create the works of Ansel Adams in color. But we do love good pictures, and if a picture is worth 1000 words, it might as well be a decent ...
Pros: Excellent picture quality, image stabilization, color options, tons of features, good value Cons: Continuous shot mode could be faster (if I'm being picky)
Okay, I'll admit the title is a bit dramatic But it's accurate. I absolutely loved my last camera and couldn't imagine parting with. I finally decided to take the plunge and I couldnt be happier with my Canon Powershot Elph SD1100IS. ...
Pros: Many features in a compact camera, including a viewfinder. Cons: None really, it was expensive but you do get a lot of excellent features.
I’ve been using this camera for over a year now and am very pleased with it. Having worked with digital photography for a decade, this is one I’m very impressed with. My preferred camera is an SLR as it has many features, but as a ...
Pros: Amazing size, great color, great build, great interface. Cons: Shutter speed a little slow even with flash
The Canon SD1100 is my second Canon compact point and shoot. My first was a Canon S400 from a while back and loved the utility and sturdiness, I upgraded to the SD1100. After having this camera for over 6 months, I can attest to the Canon ...
Pros: Easy to use interface, SD Card, ISO settings, great backup viewfinder! Cons: None
I bought the Cannon PowerShot SD1100 a little over a year ago after breaking my sony cybershot on vacation. I was unsure about the cannon product at the time but decided to take a gamble via the recommendation of the salesman at Best Buy. A year ...
Pros: great size, features, and even comes in many colors Cons: might not be as complicated as some would like
Once again Cannon comes through for our family. A trust well earned.I have an older Cannon powershot that still works great. When I wanted to buy a new digital camera for my 16yo daughter this was the first brand I looked at. I looked at many ...
Pros: Great images. Good color. Good lense. Best of all is it's convenient size. Cons: Weak flash. noise reduction > 200 ISO. small viewfinder
Let's put this in context. I own two Nikon DSLRs, a decent flash, and a bunch of good glass (that makes me sound like a cool photographer; it means lenses). So when I bought this little miracle a few weeks before my daugther (a bigger ...
Pros: Lots of features, Easy to Use Cons: Relatively short battery life
The Canon PowerShot SD 1100 IS has been the perfect camera for me - the mom who wants to capture every moment but has zero photography knowledge. It is a simple camera to operate with tons of great features. It only weighs 0.28 pounds and at ...
Pros: Relatively inexpensive, lightweight and portable, great picture quality. Cons: Need to buy your own digital memory card (included only 32MB), only some manual controls
One the best point-and-shoot cameras in the Canon SD series, featuring 8 megapixels and stunning design. Any user familiar with Canon cameras will definitely fall in love with this compact, lightweight camera. It is portable, produces great pictures, and ...
Pros: Size, price, and lots of cool features such as the multi-shots, self timer, video, etc. Cons: Small and flimsy cover for the battery/card compartment.
I have had this camera for about two years and I am very happy with the Canon quality. Some of my favorites features are the "macro" for close ups, the video feature, "vivid colors" and the mode to take pictures at the highest and average quality. I ...
Pros: Looks Great, takes incredible pictures and is small and lightweight Cons: None that I can find.
I purchased this camera to replace my broken Canon A70. The SD 1100 IS is a great little camera from the form factor to the ease of use. The first thing that will realy shock many is the small form factor for even a point and shoot. The camera also has all the features you would expect including Auto White Balance, Red Eye Reduction and image resizing. You also get various way to change the way the image looks from color tones to sepia and Black and white. Many people leave auto focus on but you can of course also change the ISO Settings manually if your so inclined . There is even a printer button which lets you print from the camera and set the order on how the pictures/movies upload. You will want to buy a larger memory card and for around $20 you can have a 4GB Card! Overall this camera is great for the average user and very easy to operate.
Review of Canon SD1100 camera by stevanhauser ,Oct 20 '08
Pros: Seems pretty solid after all. Cons: Battery / mem card door a little flimsy.
I purchased this camera about 45 days ago because of all the excellent reviews I have read on it. I sold my Casio EX-Z850 to get this, and I think its a decent replacement... but I honestly liked the Casio better. The screen is nice on the Canon, but the Casio's was just a little larger and brighter. The pictures seem good but not better than the Casio... about the same. I liked the fact that the Casio had a separate button for still shots and movies... on the Canon you have to slide a switch to move between movie and still pic modes. Overall... a very nice camera. The door to the battery and memory card seems a bit more flimsy on the Canon than the Casio... and if you are going to open the door to take the mem card out all the time to move pics to your PC (like me) then you might be a little concerned about this.
