Pros: -Economical duplex printing -Instant start-up (9 seconds) -Good build quality -Heavily discounted price Cons: -Not up to its full potential with MacOS
I purchased the MF4150 a couple of weeks ago and I'm quite impressed with its capabilities so far, as I intended to use the machine to print out manuals, cases, and do a bit of photocopying. I have used the 4150 with PCs with Windows XP and Vista OS ...
Pros: Good print quality, fast printing, and unit feels solid and reliable overall Cons: Scanning to PC (at least in Windows XP) lacks adjustment controls!
My experience with the Canon MF4150 is with the Windows XP operating system. (I own several Macs at home, but I use this unit at work, on a Windows-based PC.)I agree with many of the points other reviewers already mentioned. The printer prints ...
Pros: Print quality fabulous. Good cartridge life. Easy to use. Great value. Cons: Expensive cartridges and four of them too!
I did a lot of research on inexpensive color laser printers and was all set to buy a QMS/Minolta. Until I saw the output from the Oki. The color from the Oki appears to be glazed onto the page, like a (much, much) more expensive wax displacement ...
Pros: Great speed, easy setup, relatively inexpensive for the features. Cons: Squeaks when the top guide rollers are moving, toner is expensive, not good for photos.
The Okidata C5100N is a great printer for general office and home office use. It prints fast and the LED is equal or better in quality to a laser printer. It has a heavy duty look and feel. It was a snap to set up and install. The instructions were ...
Pros: Fastest color laser (LED) for $799, great warranty, great design/build, great software and instructions. Cons: Supplied starter toner is only good for 1500 copies at 5% coverage.
OKI beats the competition hands down with faster print speeds (12 pages per minute color), better paper handling, less moving parts, and great support. The Minolta-QMS 2300 DL and the HP Color Laser 2500 can't compete. Minolta and HP's printer are true...
Pros: Very affordable and extremely fast. Dependable. Cons: None. I suppose having a telephone attached would be nice.
I was in need of an affordable copier, so my wife could use,and wanted to incorporate both copying and faxing. This one does it all, and not inkjet either. The machine is totally awesome! Because it is a laser printer, it's extremely fast, and does a ...
Pros: Works fine, and technical support was excellent! Cons: No USB cable. No documented (that I could find settings "back out" button.
After a few hours of research, this printer was hitting some of the highest marks. We don't network, so I wasn't in need of a that feature. Setup was quick and painless. And though faxing works fine, I don't have an answering machine hooked up to the ...
Pros: Great print quality, great tech support Cons: starting toner only 30% full with a 1500 page life. Printer trade-up rebate misleading.
I am thrilled with my OKI C5100n. It works great on a home network. It prints fabulous text and good color. Great at the light colors of web pages. I had a minor glitch setting it up on a peer to peer network. Called tech support and the tech was ...
Pros: Inexpensive, Fast Printing, reasonable cost per page, Built-in networking Cons: Paper feed is loud.
Ok but not a great photo printer
MS Windows only environment
I really like this printer. The drivers were easy to install and print well. It is excellent for t ...
Pros: Great printing, quality scanning, fax seems adequate, and fast, copies very well Cons: Not network ready, no scan to network, page registration inconsistent
Canon in my mind is a reputable company with solid products. This little block of multi function device is an overall good product. There are give and takes with it, as it is not everything for everybody, but it certainly will do all its functions quite ...
I have the product only a few weeks and I have not yet tried the scan function. All other functions work as expected once you get through the techno-babble documentation that is spread across five sources: Starter Guide, Basic Guide, Advanced Guide (PDF), Scanner Driver Guide (PDF), on-line help. All this made the setup a challenge.
Want to print duplex? On-line help directs you to a tab in the preferences dialog that simply is not there. An email to support gave me proper instructions.
This is really just nitpicking. The printer works very well and has all the features I wanted: laser, duplex, ADF. It's compact, responsive, has excellent print and fax quality. Support via email has been very good; responses came in a day or two (I had no urgency requirement.)
I consider the price to be a bargain for all the functionality and quality the unit provides. In short, I highly recommend the MF4150.
Decent printer, decent price, workhorse by stephgash ,May 29 '07
Pros: Fast, fast, fast! Good print quality. Cons: Not as user friendly as our old HP, but seems to be more dependable!
We stepped up from HP Officejet 6110 into this Canon laser all in one machine.
The ink jet went through ink like crazy and we had it replaced one time under warranty because it just freaked out.
We run a small office out of our home and depend on the printer and fax for quite a bit. We've got two people sharing this machine, print probably 100 pages/day and send/receive many faxes each day.
Hard to live with, but good color by laryh ,Jul 06 '06
Pros: Speed and quality of print was satisfactory. Cons: Oki consumables are expensive. The "toner low" warning light is flashing most of the time
This is my fourth Okidata printer, but it will be my last. Each Oki that I have owned has failed to live up to it's promise. The current C5100 was a warranty replacement for a C5300 that died (as did two subsequent 24-hour fedex replacements) This C5100 has worked OK for about 14,000 pages, but has now developed a problem where the black printing along the right side of the page is faded and only about 1/2 as dark as on the left side. This happens after only 2,000 pages on a new image drum (this is the 3rd drum so far with this problem). Okidata sent me one image drum free, but has declined to send any more. The technician sort of admits there is a problem but won't say what it is or what to do to fix it. I can't afford a new image drum every 2,000 pages so I'm pulling the plug on this dog and Okidata in general.
