Pros: Very good quality photo prints (on glossy paper). Cons: Paper tray selector control. Total Cost of Ownership is likely high.
First, a prelude: You might be able to get this printer for free. Canon frequently runs rebates on their photography equipment, and these rebates sometimes include other Canon products, such as this printer. For example, their current ...
Ok I currently have an HP all in one for basic faxing, printing, scanning but wanted a specific ¡§photo¡¨ printer, so I purchased the Canon Pixma ip660d. (I had originally wanted I think the 4250, but ultimately decided on the 6600d) Well I am a natural ...
Pros: Photo quality, speed, quiet, nice 3.5" LCD screen Cons: Size, no DVD/CD-R media printing.
My Epson 785EPX recently died so I need a replacement. I was very pleased with the quality of the photos my Epson delivered but suddenly the print heads stopped working properly which left extreme color distortion and bad vertical bars. So I started ...
Pros: Speed, photo quality, new longevity inks Cons: Still not quite lab processed quality.
Just bought this printer tonight as a replacement for my Canon I950 which died on me recently. I am resigned to the fact that every couple of years you have to upgrade your printer either due to failure or new introduced features. I had compared this ...
I finally took my Epson out back and "shot it" rather than buying any more outrageously priced ink for it, besides it had never been all that great and it was terribly slow. It always irked me that Epson charged double for the BLACK ink cartridges, even ...
Pros: Print quaility for this printer is excellent!! Cons: Price of ink,and software could be better
I read reviews in here about this printer so I thought I would return and give my thoughts on this printer after buying it. I bought this printer for $172.00 with a $20.00 rebate. The good points about this printer are very sharp and rich colors for your ...
Pros: Good photo quality and speed, LCD screen Cons: Large size
Let me start by saying I am not a computer expert and I'm not an amateure or professional photographer. I bought this printer to print word documents, recipes, mapquest directions AND high quality photos of whatever I happened to snap on my camera. ...
Pros: Access to the paper trays is excellent. Cons: Installation is not the easiest but is tolerable.
I purchased this printer because I was so disgusted with my HP Photosmart 8250 (you can read that review as well). The Canon solved all of the problems that I had with the HP. My main problem with the HP was the inaccessibility of the paper tray. The ...
Extremely High Quality Printing by hdtravel ,May 18 '06
Pros: Quiet, vivid color photos, color LCD screen, dual paper feeds, memory card slots. Cons: None
I purchased this printer for use as a multi-purpose unit with an emphasis on photo printing.
I put some 4X6 glossy photo paper in the bottom tray and some regular paper in the top. Handy feature !
Photos print very fast and the quality is very good. Sharp, clear, vivid. The color LCD screen and memory card slots are nice features - no need to have the PC on.
The unit is attractive and is the quietest of any printer that I ever owned.
It is just a fantastic home machine that handles text to photos with ease.
Pros: print quality Cons: Ink cartridge failures are costly and frustrating
I base my opinion on one issue only. The individual inkjet cartridges fail, generating various incorrect error messages. For example, it frequently decides that one of the ink cartridges is the wrong color for the slot inside the printer. Inspection reveals that it is the right one but the printer will not let you print AT ALL as long as it thinks it has the wrong one. It also incorrectly says the cartridge is empty when it is in fact almost full. There are a couple of other errors that have the same result - the printer thinks something is wrong and won't let you print until you replace the "incorrect" cartridge with a new one. It wouldn't be so bad if you could still print with a "bad" cartridge, but ...
Cannon's support on their website was worthless. I researched the issue online and found several folks who identified the problem, but no solutions except spending more money on ink cartridges.
I would love to drop this thing out of a 10 story window.
Pros: The price, the speed, the lcd preview Cons: Red - tone issue, printer head calibration (or whatever it is) delay
Bought this printer and was very excited about the features and the deal i got on this. I printed my first 8X11 today and the pic has a red wash. I used a laptop to print, but the pic was not close to this red when viewed in a calibrated monitor.
Googling the issue brought up the same single report from a guy in a 100 different sites, but the problem is true.
Pros: excellent photo quality. fast printing. Great colors Cons: Does leave scratches on the photos.
I figured out what was wrong with the 8X10 putting ink lines. It reverted back to plain paper before I printed it. So printer thought it was printing on plain paper.
I corrected it now all is fine.
I have noticed scratches on some of the pictures that I print and have read by other users that they are experiencing the same problem
