Pros: Image Stabilization, 7 megapixels, 4X optical zoom, and uses available anywhere AA batteries
Cons: Price, redeye, some corner softness and minor chromatic aberration (purple fringing), slow flash re-charge
Canon's "A" series digicams have been number one in U.S. sales for the past five years because they consistently provide consumers with class leading features, super images, and amazing ease of use. Canon's "A" series digicams reliably offer more ...
Pros: Image stabilization, resolution, uses 2 AA batteries, size, features, image quality, easy to use Cons: Slow flash recycle, noise at highest ISO settings, not cheap
The Canon PowerShot A570 IS is a 7.1-Megapixel Canon camera with 4x optical zoom that uses two AA batteries and features optical image stabilization. It is a new model that improves on the previous models of the A5xx series by upping the resolution and ...
Pros: Easy-to-use, Good photo quality, Lots of functions, Canon quality Cons: Shutter lag, low-light issues
I've been hemming and hawing on upgrading from the point and shoot camera that I currently have to something with greater resolution and more options. As part of that quest I was able to get my hands on my good friend's Canon PowerShot A570 IS 7.1 ...
Pros: DIGIC III, 4x optical, uses AA batteries, manual control, small size for features, bang-for-buck Cons: Image quality slightly worse than SD800, Canon's movie mode files too bulky
Ughhh.... digital camera turnover remains ridiculous. About every 6 months, just about every camera company completely revamps its model lineup. Canon has pretty much revamped its entire lineup even though most of the cameras weren't even a year old! ...
Pros: Pretty decent pictures, easy to use, medium weight. Cons: Struggles with low light settings, fancy features don't seem to do much.
Mr_chelledun and I are veteran Canon camera purchasers, so although the last model died a bit sooner than we would have liked (probably repeatedly dropping it didnt help), we still eagerly signed on for Canon digital camera number four with the ...
Pros: easy to use, takes great photos, small, image stabilization Cons: none for this type digital camera and price range
I bought the Canon PowerShot A570 to replace a great HP point and shoot digital camera that Id flat worn out. I take photos almost daily for web publication and for the school newspaper. Seriously, I dont go anywhere without a digital camera ...
Pros: Simple camera that takes great pictures while using AA batteries Cons: Flash recharge slow
Having finally decided that digital cameras aren't just some passing fad (okay, so maybe it had more to do with other things being a higher priority like a computer I could download the pictures to), I recently bought my first digital camera. There were ...
Pros: Image stabilization, simple photo options, good picture quality Cons: Short battery life, on the bulky side
I bought the Canon PowerShot S200 sometime around 2001. Long enough ago, anyway, where I thought I was really cool to be getting a digital camera. Man, I loved that thing. It went with me everywhere for six years, and finally died a glorious death ...
Pros: Great value for money, everything you need, supremely well designed & laid out. Cons: Noisy CCD at high ASA settings, so-so flash, no battery markings.
As far as I can see Canon can do no wrong when it comes to easy to use digital cameras & my latest purchase, the A570IS (replacing my worn out Canon A80), is a case in point. Others may have the edge in one or two areas but when it comes down to overall ...

Pros: Image Stabilization. AA Batteries. No Internal Memory. SDHC. Low Shutter Lag. Intuitive Controls. Cons: Battery Meter Error. Long Flash Cycle. Bulky. Scratch-able Screen. Doesn't record to XVID.
I bought this camera after extensive research into consumer level point and shoot cameras. I have had a few digital cameras in the past and have found Canons to have some of the best image quality of any cameras I have used, along with having durable ...
Pros: Extremely good image stabilization using lens shift technology Cons: Flimsy plastic window in front of LCD screen
Here's my review of the Canon Power Shot A570IS 7 megapixel 4X optical zoom digital camera. This camera uses Cannon's latest third-generation Digic III processor that is designed to be more power thrifty and faster speed. The content of this camera Kit ...
Pros: Versatile and feature rich.
Strong video modes.
Quality feel.
Includes a viewfinder. Cons: Zooming blurs video.
Poor color balance on pics in "auto" mode.
I wanted a camera/camcorder all in one. I first thought I'd buy a camcorder that took stills, but quickly realized to get halfway decent pictures, you need an HD camcorder ($1000). So, then I went the "camera that takes video" route and settled in on ...
I have had this camera for over a year now. Although it takes great pictures, buyers beware it does have issues with the shutter opening and closing while turning the device on and off. Despite this problem, the camera is very easy to operate, takes ...
Pros: Optical Image stabilization a real selling point. Easy to obtain batteries- SD cards are cheap. Cons: A little bulky for a pocket, and there is "noise" with ISO settings above 400.
This camera is perfect for the quick, candid shot to record those family moments that only happen once. Zoom optical viewer as well as a vibrant LCD. Off-the-shelf AA batteries are easily obtainable and you can use rechargeable NiMH or NiCads. Using ...
Pros: Image stabilization is GREAT! Quality is superb! Cons: Could come with a bigger memory card.
I had a Kodak Z700 for a few years until it decided to become unreliable (a very bad thing for a digital camera!). For Christmas, my husband bought me the Canon A570 IS (from my wish list). I am so excited about the quality of the photos! My ...
Pros: Small, Light, AA batteries, Takes great pictures, Image Stabilization, Fast start up, Optical Viewfinder Cons: The memory card is under the battery cover door which seems a bit fragile.
We got the Canon PowerShot A570 IS last year to replace my old digital camera. The Image Stabilization is my favorite feature as my pictures come out sharp far more often. Battery life is decent, especially with Lithium AAs. Flash recharge time is ...
Pros: Like the simple dial for settings.
Good screen size. Cons: A little big.
A little heavy.
Poor battery life? For those of you that have this problem let me tell you what happened to me. My battery life was 24 hours before the low battery was flashing. I didn't even have to have it out of the case to take pictures for this to happen. After 2 ...
Pros: Easy to use, Many features Cons: Video quality not the greatest
I have a Canon Powershot A570 and I think it is the best digital camera available in its price range. I admit that I am not a very technical person, so this review might not have all the technical terms you might usually find in a camera review. But if ...
Pros: Great crystal clear pictures. Video with sound is amazing. All features are easy to navigate. Cons: Battery indicator defect! Feels cheap, compared to Nikon's P50. Battery door difficult to open/close.
Just bought mine a few days ago. Was working great, awesome pics and video. Much better than the Fujifilm I had. I thought all that research I did payed off. Until yesterday I was snapping pics and video at the local IHRA drag strip. The low battery ...
Pros: Compact. Basic features easy to use. So far has stood by the Canon name. Cons: Instruction manual a little hard to follow. Average battery life.
I have been a Pentax user for years with my 35mm SLR, then came digital. I started out with a 3 megapixel and once I got the hang of digital vs. film I was hooked. As with any product they improve so quickly you keep wanting more. So on advice of a ...

Pros: image quality
auto or manual modes
AA batteries
image stabilization
price
Cons: battery compartment/memory card door is a little difficult.
I bought the A570 IS as my first digital after reading so many good reviews, and I don't regret it. It has all I wanted and more in a camera, but some essentials you should order at the same are a camera bag, a 2 GB memory card, and a set of ...
Pros: Excellent image quality, OIS, full manual and auto modes Cons: Low-res LCD screen, SD slot placement, slow flash recharge
I needed to move up to a digital camera and was reviewing my choices. I figured I'd go with Canon since I'd been using their point-and-shoots for years without disappointment. I narrowed it down to the A570IS. The camera offered a whole host of manual ...
Pros: Never taken a bad photo yet always clear and quality is great and is expandable Cons: Didn't include the color option in settings.
This is a great camera for beginners or advance users. Different settings allow free range of use of this camera specifics on this camera are 7.1 mega pixels 4x optical zoom, optical image stabilizer, digic III, face detection, 2.5 lcd screen 2inch ...
Pros: Takes quick pictures with good results. Has lenses addons. Cons: High ISO speeds make 'grainy' pictures. Requires two AA batteries. Size may make it 'non-pocketable'.
The IS standing for 'Image Stabilization.' What drew me to the A570 was the ability to take numerous pictures in quick sequence (especially when review is turned off.) With a script, i'm able to take pictures of lighter sparks in nice detail or even of ...
Pros: Picture Quality, Scene Modes, Value, 4X zoom Cons: Slow recovery time, a bit clunkier than other compact cameras
I purchased the Canon A570 to take with me overseas this summer. I did some homework beforehand, and decided it was the best deal for the money. I have been pleasantly surprised with the camera. I have snapped hundreds of photos so far, and am getting ...
Pros: Quality photos, image stabilization, easy to use, AA size batteries, affordable Cons: Rare red eyes, none while considering the quality and price
Cannon A570IS is probably one of the better point and shoot digital cameras that Cannon has produced. It has ton of features that are very rare in its class of cameras. It has a small size that is just enough to conveniently grip and use. The 2.5 inch ...
Pros: Hard to damage the outside, breath-taking pictures, well worth your money. Cons: Battery door is sometimes difficult, screen scratches easily.
before I begin this review, I want to let you know that I jump around a lot in my reviews, so please bear with me (:! purchased this camera at Wal-mart a few months ago, and am very glad to have done so. The camera, while being a bit on the large side, ...
Pros: Digic III , Improved FD, IS Cons: Slow flash recycling.
This camera takes excellent photos. Features-wise, I think this is the best in A series and SD series as this is only Camera with IS, Digic III and improved face detection (not only detects face but set exposure, focus and flash accordingly). SD800/900 ...
Pros: Very nice point-and-shoot digital camera. I especially like the anti-shake feature. Cons: Poor design of battery compartment electrical contacts. See my comments above.
I really like the PowerShot A570IS. It's a big step up from the A80 I had before it. However, I've experienced the low-battery warning problem that has been mentioned multiple times on the 'Net. The problem manifests itself when the camera turns on ...
Pros: It's broke & complicated Cons: Let me think? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?
Have had it less than a week.
The on/off & shutter click tones don't work.
The battery & SD card access cover is broken & won't open (good thing I didn't take any compromising pics).
Pros: Sturdy,Pretty good Battery life. Cons: Older,Less features.
This is a pretty good camera what it lacks in features it makes up for its sturdy build. I dropped mine on the floor countless times and it is still working fine. If you want a good long lasting sturdy camera with pretty long battery life then this is the camera for you.
Pros: Great features Cons: Battery problems make this a no no
Great camera apart from the chronic and seemingly insoluble low battery indicator problems, widely discussed on line but denied by Canon. The camera shows low battery - and then closes down - sometimes after as few as half a dozen pictures, regardless of what type of battery is used. Buyer beware
Love this little toy!!
Unfortunately the battery "LO" icon flashes most of the time even though batteries are new!
Great for the economy price and ease of use for "simple-type" zooms & macros, the kind you can't get with a plain point and shoot.
Image Stabilization not perfect BUT a great improvement over the A460
Best Buy is NOT your Best Buy by technoidiot ,Feb 01 '08
Pros: Weight, ease of use and simply stated clear instruction manuals. Bright, clear, focused photos! Cons: Price variance.
Love the camera. So far for a techno-idiot, I can handle it and it takes great photos...but, don't walk, RUN from Best Buy. The day I went to the store, I mentioned to the salesperson that I was sure that Staples had the A570 IS camera cheaper and he said they would check. Well, he didn't and shame on me, I left the store thinking oh well, what's $20....well, Staples, The Apple Store AND amazon.com all had the camera a minimum of $30 cheaper ($50 in the case of Staples). I was so angry but when I called, because I missed their 14 day window, it was my tough luck. Buy the camera but NOT at Best Buy. Could have purchased it on amazon.com with 4 GB memory, case, etc. for the same price!!!!
Pros: Takes wonderful pictures Cons: Vey poor battery life
Would not recommend this camera because of the poor battery life. When I first got it the batteries would only last for 2 or 3 pictures so sent it back to Canon for repair and it came back marginally better but still unacceptable. Have tried different rechargeable batteries and different chargers with no success. The sales person then suggested disposible Luthium batteries and that has worked but gets a little pricey. The camera otherwise is fine.
Pros: Excellent pictures, macro focus, manual controls Cons: autoexposure flaky, complex controls, mechanical failure of lens extension mechanism in less than three months
Good pictures and does have manual controls. I like and need the macro focus. AutoExposure failed from time to time (e.g., when taking several pictures under the same light conditions, one would be seriously underexposed). Light and easy to carry in a jacket pocket so it was always ready for use.
In terms of features, an excellent camera for both point-and-shoot and experienced photographers. Both my wife and I got almost professional quality pictures.
I really liked the camera until it broke. Soon after I bought the camera, the lens failed to extend when I turned it on. This happened several times until the lens jammed in the extended position less than three months after I bought it.
Pros: everything is good gives you manual options also...... Cons: SANYO 2700mah battery is necessary
This is the best camera in its catagory. It given you so much features auto and manuals also.It has a problem of showing low battery indicator after 10 or so photograph clicked with LCD on and using zoom. So for that normal Alkaline battery will not work so use Sanyo 2700 mah battery.. that is the best.
