I owned a Canon Powershot A520 for almost two years, and I was getting really sick of it. I mean, it's a great little point-and-shoot camera, but my needs had outgrown the camera. And my particular camera had been used so much over its lifespan that the ...

The Canon PowerShot A640 10 mega pixel digital camera may be the best choice in its class. For the price, durability, ease of use and most importantly quality of the pictures. This camera is truly hard to beat. There are other more technically ...
Pros: High quality image, low noise, Lot's of Pixels, and an excellent macro capability. Cons: No big disadvantages, the optical viewfinder is small, and there is no image stabilization.
I purchased this camera in October 2006, primarily for it's point and shoot capabilities. My Canon 5D is an excellent camera, but on daily early morning walks with the dog in the Arizona desert, it is too heavy. Occasionally, a good photo opportunity ...
Pros: High quality pictures, good features and customization Cons: Flash burn out, no stabilization, bulky
I got this camera as a replacement to my fujifilm 4.1 megapixel that I dropped in some awesome sand at the beach, which caused my lense to not be able to come out at all. Best choice I have ever made. PROS: I love taking pictures, and I love editing ...

Pros: like a small slr digital Cons: You have to work this camera, this is more then just a point and shoot

Good for webmasters, not bar masters by terraba ,Jan 24 '07
Pros: 10 megapixels, large 2.5 inch screen, price! Cons: Size.
I run an information website and needed a camera with at least 10 MP's and manual settings for taking pictures of hotels and beach locations. After a lot of research I chose the A640 and could not be happier with the results. I, however, find it too bulky to take it bar hoping with so I will probably be getting a smaller, cheaper one for that purpose. Moral of the story: buy this camera if you plan to do a lot of your shooting in situations where you will be carrying a bag pack or computer bag.
Pros: Easy to use, lightweight, plenty of great features. Cons: If there are any, I'd say it's heavier than I'd like.
I bought the A640 a couple of months ago (on ebay); my first digital camera. As a die hard SLR fan, I was a little uneasy about going to digital. This camera was a great find! It's easy to use, lightweight, but has all the features I need. In fact, I just got back my vacation pictures and they're the best I've ever taken. Crisp, clear and vibrant. I'd recommend this camera to anyone looking to go digital or just wanting a great camera.
