Pros: Fast focus, crisp photos, good quality video, decent low light Cons: Price? slightly difficult menu system to get used to
Summary: The SD700 IS was a replacement for my Minolta Dimage XT. It's difficult to compare the two, because the Minolta was only a 3 Megapixel camera. That aside, I'll focus on the SD700 IS. A week before a cruise I was going on I decided I wanted to ...
Pros: Durable, small, good colors, fast focusing Cons: Body scratches easy, screen get dirty, bad photos in low light
When I think of Canon SD700is, I think of 15 countries, more than 40 cities, and more than 16,000 shots. I also think of rains, fog, freezing cold and steamy hot weather. And in all these conditions, SD700 performed amazing. SD700is was trully my travel ...

I've wanted this model since I heard it would be out, and now I've got it. The Ixus 800IS is currently the top of the line for the Ixus family, with the other two Ixus models being promoted by Canon being the Ixus60 and Ixus65. I bought the Ixus60 3 ...
Pros: Quality, ergonomics, settings, image stabilization, zoom, resolution, fast Cons: Price, high ISO noise, battery life with IS and LCD
[LCD and Viewing] The SD700 comes with a 2.5" LCD. The resolution is better than previous models and it looks nice. However, it appears to scratch easily (the LCD is recessed 1mm or 2) and appears to be similar in LCD build to my coolpix 5900. ...
Pros: Optical viewfinder - Image Stabilizer - Features - Size Cons: wimpy flash -- zoom too fast
My goal was to get a pocket sized camera, with excellent optics, and as close to SLR as possible in its features. With the feature set that the SD700IS has, it meets all of those requirements. Add in the Image Stabilizer, and it exceeds my ...
Pros: Durable, good pictures, many settings but still simple Cons: Battery life low, expensive (very)
Upon first taking my SD700 camera out of the box, I was surprised. First, for a small camera, it took CF-2 (Compact Flash), which is really big for a camera like this. I paid $650 CDN for the camera, but it was worth it. Quality? The ...
Pros: Small size, great picture quality, Image stabilization, easy to use Cons: video could be sharper but I don't know if this is possible
I bought my SD700 IS for use at my daughters wedding. I wanted good quality pictures, flexibility, image stabilization and small size. I used the camera for about a week before the big event and even with limited time on with the camera my pictures ...

Very nice styling on the body of this camera. Looks and feels like quality workmanship from the moment you open the box. I bought the camera for my wife because she is a point-and-shoot kinda gal. She loves the camera and finds the features and menu easy ...

Canon SD700 IS Digital Camera Review ( Novice) by kayhawn ,Apr 29 '06
Pros: 'NO MORE RED-EYE' Image-Stabilizer and Real-Image Optical Viewfinder. Cons: Pricey compared to other cameras, I paid $499, to heavy to put in shirt pocket.
Exquisitely styled with unique 'Curvature and Stream' design, the camera incorporates a host of cutting-edge features, Image-Stabilizer, Real-Image Optical Viewfinder, Excellent picture quality with very good indoor pictures, and 'NO MORE RED-EYE' were the most important features to me.
Canon PowerShot SD700 IS Digital ELPH perfect for the active family by chrisv614 ,Sep 19 '06
Pros: Image Quality, Compact Design, Large LCD display, Cons: No Battery Meter....that's my only complaint.
I recently purchased the SD700 after my previous camera broke. I had a Sony P3 3.1 megapixel camera that we bought 4 years ago because it was compact and I liked the Sony brand. I have to admit that I am glad it broke. I have a wife and two young children ages 4 and 1. One of the best features on the Canon is a setting for Kids & Pets. We no longer miss those "picture moments". You know if you have kids that when they are doing something you have a short window of time to get the picture. Well not only will you be able to get the picture but it will not come out blurry 95% of the time.
In doing my research for this camera I spoke with two friends that are graphic artists. They both recommended I get a Canon camera. I also talked to other family and friends and the two that didn't have a Canon hate their camera. All the others own a Canon and they ALL love them.
So if you don't get this camera I suggest getting one of the many Canons out there.
Image Stabilization That Really Works by riaz28 ,Mar 08 '07
Pros: Superb image stabilization and picture quality Cons: Pricey
Canon is known for their get cameras but the SD700IS is a mile ahead. The picture quality was beautiful. I had a couple cameras in the past with image stabilization, but they were not close to the SD700IS. The shape of the camera was really good; it was a little bulky but the smooth curves make it look slim and comfortable to hold. The only bad thing about this camera it was pricey BUT DEFINITELY WORTH IT.
finally a digital camera I love by melisty ,Aug 25 '06
Pros: Stabilization, clear clear pictures, wonderful features and picture styles. small and sleek. Cons: On the pricey side, I got a better deal on line.
After months of research, I finally picked the canon. The stabilization feature is great and works beautifully. You can buy an underwater camera housing for it.It is small enough that I can put it easily in my small purse. It is a wonderful camera and will not disappoint. As a side note I found a great slim case to carry it around at best buy for $1.99. It is very attractive and doesn't look like a camera case, more like a cell phone.
A superb camera - The Canon SD700IS / IXY 800 by canon_fan ,Sep 07 '06
Pros: Image stabilization, sturdy construction, excellent photos, pocket sized, good battery capacity, optical viewfinder. Cons: Only 6 MP (wanted 8), weak flash, only 35 mm wide angle, no shutter priority
I chose this model because I have always been happy with my Canon cameras and the on-line reviews rated it as excellent but pricey, then waited 3 months for the price to come down closer to about $300. After shooting 600 photos in all modes and conditions, this camera has exceeded my expectations. After trying out other cameras (including digital SLRs)at retail stores, it became clear that while this is not the perfect camera, it is the best overall camera for photo quality, size, and sturdy construction.
