Pros: Zoom, image stabilization, battery, speed, overall image quality, 720p movie mode, features Cons: Annoying flash, focusing issues, lens's maximum aperture, price
Cameras with optical zoom of 6x and above are addictive. After using a mega-zoom camera, it is difficult to "downgrade" to a compact point-and-shoot model. A reasonably compact camera with a 12x optical zoom and 28-mm wide angle, the Canon SX200 IS is ...
Pros: Zoom, small size, picture quality, playback and review Cons: Screen display a little grainy, doesn't like fluorescent lights, no optical video zoom
After 2 solid weeks of reading scores of professional and general public reviews on the Canon Powershot 200sx I took the plunge and bought it. As this was my first digital camera I was somewhat apprehensive, maybe the thing would be too complex or ...
Pros: Long lens, compact size, excellent video, smart auto mode. Cons: High price, pop up flash can be annoying.
I've been a camera buff for roughly 40 years. Like most early users, I started with a simple Kodak box model and later progressed to 35MM. That is when I learned about what's really involved shooting photos. In the good old days nothing ...
Pros: 12X optical zoom Takes decent indoor pictures with the flash Long battery life Cons: Slippery body No viewfinder Shutter lag Outdoor shots can be yellowish Wall mount battery charger
I bought this camera in April 2009 and have been using it in a variety of settings for the past 6 months. Overall, it is a decent camera with tons of features. I bought this camera to replace one that did not take very good indoor ...
Pros: Portability Manual mode Large screen IS Long reach lens Logical Controls Startup time, shutter lag ok Cons: Picture quality no RAW Flash always pops up Slow Focus flimsy USB door
As an enthusiastic amateur photographer I already had a DSLR but I wanted a smaller cam for candid and convenient travel shooting. Had a long hard look at the Canon G10 and I loved all the features, but it was just too chunky to carry with ...
Pros: Extend of features Stylish luks Cons: Nothin come across till now
I bout this camera one week back... n has been searchin for an apt one since one month .... was plannin to buy an SLR .. but the size of the camera and inconvienience of carryin it with the case was the minuses for that... Seein this I doubted the clarity of the image as it is very compact..(human presumption of big and costly means better..).. But this one disproved it all... gr8 clarity .. gr8 features.. n the best thing is that this one so compact n stylish looks than any of its competition ....includin the 12 MP camera s of Canon itself... n it gives a look not of a simple blunt camera .. but a semi professional one..
This can be said as the best blend between the style and features and ofcourse the price...
Great camera but beware of LENS ERROR!! by eyee2 ,Oct 04 '09
Pros: Wide lens, HD video mode, 12 times zoom Cons: Can't adjust manual exposure while in HD recording mode, battery life very low
Overall an amazing little camera but lasted only 2 weeks. Then all of a sudden received a 'lens error'. No trauma to the body whatsover. Searched online and saw others had the same problem.
I owned the Canon S60 for many years and even dropped that one on the pavement and never had such error and kept working all those years.
This new camera is made of mostly plastic and one can tell that Canon is doing all they can to make it as disposable and as cheap as possible. Shame on you Canon!
After a big fight my retailer where I bought the camera, they agreed to give me my money back. Went with another camera.
Awesome features, but.... by ndoyeduck ,Oct 16 '09
Pros: feature rich. Cons: apparent lens durability issues, and annoying motorized pop up flash.
I just purchased the Sx200IS two days ago. Last night when I was practicing with the features, which are exceptional, I received a “lens error, must restart” message. I thought I must have done something wrong, however within the next hour, I had received three more of the same messages. This camera was not taken outdoors, I only took 100 photos, never dropped it. It was only 48 hours old, but didn’t even make it out of the box until it was a day old.
I don’t know if I just received a dud, but after doing some quick internet searching on this error, I have lost my confidence in the lens durability of this camera and will be returning it.
