Canon PowerShot S230 / IXUS v³ Digital Camera

I bought 2 months ago but my decision to buy was almost 4 months through evaluating amongs 9 comparable brands.I use for evaluating weak zones of security systems in strategic and commercial buildings,and making short simulations of training for an anti terrorist special force.Also for comparing designs of interiors and equipments.Very easy to use,easy to store the data in my computer,using it as a play back movies equipmt,wide variations of creatives photographs,speedy accidently movie recording.A reasonable pocket size zoom camera,sharp print resolutions in repro even with a simple printers.I doubt in the durability.I had recommed to 5 friends to buy.

I bought a few cameras before getting this one. I had two Nikons (885, 3MP and the 4300, 4MP) and one Pentax (5MP, not sure the model). This Canon has: the best picture quality (by far), best resources (BW, 9 point focus, film w/ sound, you change b/n modes easily, you can review pictures easily). The interface program is also the best among the three. Really happy with it.

This camera will appeal to almost everyone looking for a small camera to carry around. Pictures are very good. Movie clips are excellent. One minor gripe;you cannot touch this camera without leaving your fingerprints. You'll need a larger CF card so pick up a good carrying case and a soft cloth to keep it clean, too. All things considered this is a very good camera! I would recommend this little gem to all in the market for a small, compact, well-built camera.

I am really happy with this buy. The mini movie is great with its sound recording. The 16MB included in the package though is very limited in terms of capacity and the accessories are very expensive (e.g. direct power connector, Compact Flash cards, etc.). The company should lower its prices on these accessories. Nonetheless, i highly recommend this product.

The compact size of the camera makes it extremely portable. However, the significant downside is that the telescoping lens must rotate with every power-up. Within a few months the assembly failed. Cannon's minimum quote for repair is $155. I strongly recommend against purchasing any item in this product line.
