Softball & Dance Memories via Canon Sure Shot Z155

by Lisa_J Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 50, Nov 01 '02
Pros: Compact, Zoom Options, Automatic, Easy to Use
Cons: Extra Expense for Caption, Date, and Remote
I glared at my hubby when he implied that we didn’t need to replace our Chinon Genesis GS-7 Reflex Zoom. After years of successful film photography results the camera died. This was a mixed blessing in my opinion. As much as I liked the...

Unreliable Autofocus

by macossay , Jan 10 '05
Pros: Well made, good lenses, first rate auto exposure
Cons: Passive only autofocus does not work well, unfocuses photos are the norm.
Do not be mislead by earlier reviews. Yes, the original Z155 had a very good hybrid autofocus system, that switched between passive autofocus and infrared active autofocus depending on the conditions. It worked extremely well. Alas, Canon has ...

Great little camera!

by cobalt80 , Nov 25 '02
Pros: Easy to use, small size, attractive body, lots of features for a fairly low price.
Cons: A couple of Very small buttons may be rough for some.
Highly recommended for ease of use, small size, and the variety of shots it can handle with ease. I was torn between this and the Canon Rebel, but with this camera its easy to just point and shoot when you need to, but also have the settings there for...

Lousy pictures of babies/pets

by daisylover , Dec 19 '02
Pros: stylish
Cons: Buyer be aware: red-eye reduction does not work on babies and pets
After using the canon T70 and having wonderful pictures, I researched and purchased the small point-and-shoot Canon Z155 in anticipation of my first child. I desired an easy to use, point-and-shoot with a powerful reach-out zoom, for recording pictures...

Gadgety camera you don't have to focus on

by akuklewicz , Jun 10 '02
Pros: Small, easy to use, zoom-o-rama
Cons: Pricey, more features than you need, delay between shots
I love gadgets; Can't just buy the cheapest or simplest, I want features and value.

In fact, I was really wanting a digital camera, but my Luddite wife insisted on film. This camera was a more than satisfactory compromise, and avoided any...

This is a fun little camera. It's many features allow you to take a variety of shots with much ease. You can literally point and shoot. The film is easy to load and unload, and the quality of the pictures is supurb. The red eye reduction feature allows...

Poor overall quality photos
by macossay ,Jan 10 '05
Pros: good auto exposure and light balance
Cons: poor focusing.
Although earlier versions of the camera worked well, Canon has downgraded this product line. The new passive autofocus chip is far inferior to the hybrid autofocus on earlier models. Low light and flash photography are particularly bad. That's unfortunate, because the auto-exposure in much improved. If you can get it to focus, you get a sharp photo with good light balance. But don't count on it for anything except landscapes in daylight.

Buyer BEWARE!!!! Skip Canon!
by BOSSC351 ,Oct 24 '04
Pros: Great pictures.
Cons: Broke after 5 rolls of film. Crappy product support. Shoddy manufacturing.
We purchased this camera from Best Buy in order to document my newborn son's experiences as he grows up. Well, after 5 rolls of film this camera no longer works. It flashes an error code on the display and does not function at all. We called Canon and were told to send the camera in to have it repaired and we must pay for the repair. THIS IS CRAZY!!! The manufacturer clearly will not stand behind its own product making this a BAD buy for consumers! Never again will I buy Canon! SKIP CANON!
