Conquest is sure to conquer your doubts about cruising

by jasonsterling , Mar 04 '03
Pros: Beautiful Ship, Great Service, Huge Rooms, Entertainment, Food Ect.
Cons: Jamaica is a little of a let down
Let me start by saying the Conquest is an absolutely beautiful ship. It's brand new and the flamboyant taste of the Carnival decorating team has been tempered during the years. I traveled on the Sensation last year and the decor looked a bit like Las...

by ericschwartz , Oct 22 '06
Pros: Excellent service, great bang for your buck
Cons: Too many smokers, hard sell on extras
Background: My wife and I (both 40's), my 17 year old son and 15 year old daughter took a 7 day Western Caribbean cruise, out of Galveston, on the Carnival Conquest. This is the 6th cruise for my wife and I, while it was the third cruise for both the ...

What a great time.

by Gingerbread , Aug 26 '04
Pros: Big ship. Variety of food.
Cons: Could use a little more planned activites for days at sea.
I will try to be brief but there is so much I want to say about the ship. We got to the terminal around ll:30. Once my husband got finished parking the car at the Hilton (good parking rate), we were on the ship within 45 minutes. We went up to ...

I conquered the Conquest!

by attiefancy , Dec 11 '02
Pros: Beautiful ship. Home port New Orleans! Lots of fun.
Cons: Parking in New Orleans. Loading zone was chaos after debarking while trying to leave.
This was my second cruise and my first inaugural cruise. This was the Conquest's Maiden Voyage on November 15, 2002, a 4 day cruise from New Orleans to Cozumel, and back.

Embarkation was quick and organized. Went very smoothly. We parked...

by tomnmegan2 , Dec 08 '03
Pros: Ship Is Beautiful And Kept Clean, Friendly Staff
Cons: Soda fountain cards users made to feel like second class citizens, Montego Bay was awful
My husband arranged this cruise for our 7th Anniversary. We have sailed on Carnival ships in the past and are going on our next cruise with Carnival in March of 2004. So we hope our review is helpful to those planning their first, or next, cruise:) ...

A good mix of economy and quality

by RichSAP , Nov 16 '05
Pros: Food, service, fun, relaxation... all without leaving the comfort of the ship! Fair value.
Cons: Prices of some amenities, lines at times for some events are loooong.
This review will focus more on the ship, crew and amenities than on my personal vacation experience. The Conquest is one of Carnival's largest cruise ships with a capacity of more than 3,000 guests plus over 1,000 crew members. When we sailed on ...

Sleep Deprivation on Floor Six is likely if you are not deaf.

by sierra78 , Aug 08 '05
Pros: Smooth ride. Excellent engineering and systems. Decent food. Some friendly people. Fun shows. Photographers.
Cons: Crowds. Odors. Poor ventilation. Deck six cabins above disco and karaoke. Tiring.
We sailed the first week in August 2005. Conquest is bigger but it is much more crowded than the Inspiration it replaced. It is usually difficult to get around in the public areas and there are lines everywhere for everything. The contract crews seldom ...

by taylortraveler , Oct 11 '04
Pros: Great food, great service, Cozumel, fantastic children's activities, good youth staff.
Cons: None, other than Jamaica.
This was the first time I had ever been on a cruise. It was given to us by a friend whose family members had backed out at the last minute. With only one week to prepare, I was frantic. Fortunately, I got myself and my two children (ages 11 and 6) ...
