Pros: 7x optical zoom, recessed lens, compact, large LCD screen, fast auto-focus, superior movie mode Cons: Flash reduces camera speed, faster ISO (400/800) reduce photo quality, low light prone to grain
::: Form & Handling ::: The Casio Exilim EX-V7 is a sleek & slim, compact camera. The large LCD screen doesn't leave much room for the rest of the controls on the back. The design is pretty basic, in the sense that there are no ...

Pros: 7x continuous zoom, image stabilization, internal lens, compact, live RGB histogram Cons: Awkward lens placement, zoom not very wide
My previous point-and-shoot digital camera was my beloved and well used Sony DSC-W1 (reviewed here by me 2-1/2 years ago) to take pictures of my baby daughter. Said daughter, now a toddler, has helped destroy that same camera. Ah well. Shopping for a ...

Pros: Sleek design, looks good, easy to transport pictures Cons: Camera bites the dust within a year and is irreparable.
I was very excited about this camera when I bought it for $249 at Circuit City. It was top of the line for my price range, and I was very pleased with it for the first six months. About that time the pictures began to get fuzzy, and assuming that my ...

Great video, bad white balance.
by gary_m_ ,Sep 20 '07
Pros: Zoom 7x while shooting video.
Video stability.
Cons: Auto white balance flaw.
Lens placement.
It only took me one minute to observe the faulty auto white balance while shooting video and still shots in a hotel ballroom. Colors with the flash and sunlight are very acceptable. Color is slightly greenish yellow with other light.
I bought the EX-V7 because of the 7x zoom while shooting video and the video stabilizer.
I own a Casio EX-S600. It has excellent auto white balance and good quality mpeg-4 video. The EX-V7 has somewhat better video quality and much better video stability, but I expected other features to be at least equal.
I cannot accept the white balance problem. Only one professional reviewer that I located on the web mentioned the white balance flaw.
I returned the camera for a refund.

Dissatisfied with V7
by odatruf ,Nov 29 '07
Pros: Compact size, sleek appearance, recessed lens, large LCD. Cons: Poor low light photos, poor customer service
With average use and careful handling of this camera, its circuit board has failed 3 times since I purchased it in July 2007. It has been 2 times to their repair center and getting ready to go again. Casio repair center has had this camera in their possession more than I have. Casio support does not promptly respond to requests for service or support.
