Pros: very good tweeters and mids and bass if your receiver won't rip them Cons: bass speaker material, cabinet strength
i am a big Cerwin Vega fan, don't get me wrong. But the bass speaker on these is made out of paper, i have an old pioneer Vsx-3900s and the last bass speakers i had ripped off the voice coil, and yes they were Cerwin's, the cases aren't built that strong. If u want good built speakers get an old pair of the Cerwin Vega at models. I have a pair of Cerwin Vega at-12's with a lightning audio 12" bass speaker in them, i have 12 gauge wire running to the bass and i rewired the crossovers in them, they originally had 18 gauge but now they have 14, i ran 10 to the speakers them self, the cases are braced, they used real wood the build these.
p.s. if u do this run the basses past the crossover, and get either a pioneer Vsx-3800 or Vsx-3900s if u can find one.
i was playing disturbed on them and i could hear the words 2 it next door and it was about 100ft. away!!! I can fell the bass 50 ft. away on flat. Both times it was only at 40% of the volume with no amp!!!!!
