Pros: core Disney characters, close to Magic Kingdom, challah french toast Cons: limited food selection, so-so character interactions, terrible blintzes, took forever to pay
When I had lunch at the Concourse Steakhouse in the Contemporary on the last day of my first trip to Disney World, I sat in the very corner of the restaurant right by the edge of Chef Mickey's. I remember thinking I'd made a mistake. It looked like ...
Pros: Happy and Joyful - Food's Not Bad, Either Cons: Sausage gravy was disappointing, nothing else to complain about. Honestly....
Chef Mickey’s, a character buffet restaurant located in Disney’s Contemporary Hotel’s Grand Canyon concourse, just looks like fun. With the monorail passing overhead as well as a big colorful statute of Mickey in a Chef’s hat and a roomful of folks ...
Pros: Fun for family, Characters - Mickey, Goofy, Donald, Minnie, Pluto Cons: Buffet selections are just 'average', very loud!
On our trip to Disney in October 2007, we did several of the character meals since the trip was all about having a blast for the kids. On the last night of our stay we had dinner at the popular character meal at Chef Mickey's as our "last hurrah" before ...
Pros: It made my daughter's 5th birthday extra special Cons: Bland, overcooked food
Being on vacation in Disney World for my oldest daughter's 5th birthday we wanted to do something extra special. A character meal sounded like a good idea so we had lunch at Chef Mickey's. The Basics Chef Mickey's is located in the ...
Pros: Festive atmosphere, lots to choose from, character interaction Cons: Not the best meal in the vicinity
We are currently in Florida enjoying a Disney vacation. We have been to Chef Mickeys before, but this was the first time that we went with our baby, who is 8.5 months old. Chef Mickeys is a buffet restaurant located in the Contemporary ...
Pros: One of the best buffets in all of Disney World complete with characters! Cons: watch out for hidden cheese
Chef Mickey’s is located at the Contemporary Resort at Walt Disney World in Florida. Getting there is half the battle but I’ll get into that later. In my mind it’s one of the best buffets in all of Disney! In fact on my last trip we somehow didn’t ...
Pros: Meet Mickey & friends in a cheery setting with plenty of great food. Cons: None.
Looking for a fun family experience at your next visit to Walt Disney World? Located inside the Contemporary Resort (that's the one that has the monorail running through the middle of the hotel), Chef Mickey's serves up excellent ...
Pros: Hassle Free Character autographs/pictures. Lot's of fun! Cons: none
My kids loved it! It's a character restaurant located at the Contemporary Resort close to Magic Kingdom. It's on the Disney Dining plan too! It's a buffet with plenty of choices, including prime rib, great salads, pastas and delicious desserts! (We had dinner) Our reservation was for 5pm and that's when they open so it was all hot and fresh. The characters go around to every table so you don't have to worry about missing any or jumping up and running after them. (or waiting in a line!) The night we were there it was Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto. (I think!) The kids loved waving their napkins in the air at the "party!"
My kids liked their choices of chicken tenders, mac and cheese, etc.

Pros: Everything! Staff and food were great! Cons: A bit slow at checking us in.
I can't say enough about this restaurant located in the Contemporary. From the time we arrived, until the time we left, we had so much fun. We arrived for breakfast at 6:55 a.m. and took awhile to check in, there wasn't anyone at the podium. However, after we were checked in we were immediately ushered to the giant plate to have our pictures taken. The staff noticed my husband wearing his birthday pin and went all out.The food was great and plentiful that even my 19 month old son ate a ton! The characters came around more than once even though it was crowded. With all the people, you'd think the staff would be slow, but they weren't. They brought a birthday cupcake and an autographed placemat for my husband! The atmosphere is kind of interesting, but it is a buffet, so it is a bit loud, which is to be expected, but it is very spacious, so you're not elbow-to-elbow with everyone else trying to get the last biscuit! There were so many food stations, and many were duplicated so you could go and get what you wanted without waiting for it to be restocked.
