Chris Craft Sport Deck 232
by carleisenberg ,Sep 20 '06
Pros: dry as heck, efficient, great ski boat even with a 240 lb skier. Cons: Enclosed head is a waste of space, and I miss the second forward facing seat.
This boat has proven to be one of the best small boats I have ever owned. I have it with a Volvo Duo Prop, added trim tabs, and use it on the Great South Bay where the water can be choppy as hell. The driest boat around, runs smoothly in a chop and even in heavy 3-4 footer holds its own. Only drawback is the low free board in the bow as if you hit the waves wrong, you can get a lot of water in the boat.
If you use it on days when the waves are under 3 feet and the wind less than 25 mph, it is one of the best around.
I use it every day from May to October and have only once, in SW 25-30 knot winds had to resort to the ferry for the crossing.

2000 Chris Craft 232 Sport Deck
by bankguy ,Jul 31 '07
Pros: Quality, roominess, efficient, comfortable Cons: None
This boat is the 'SUV' of small boats. Great for a family, seats 13. The quality is very good and there are features on this boats compared to other decks boats that put it in the luxury class. The Volvo Penta 5.7 Duo Prop is very powerful, yet fuel efficient. There is a ton of storage on it. The small head is a pump out and comes in handy when on the water for the entire day. Very stable in many types of conditions. I added an extended swim platform to mine which gives me an extra two feet off the stern. The transom shower helps with keeping the kids clean after they come back aboard. Too bad Chris Craft stopped making it. It is a great boat if you can find it.
