Pros: Civilization III is a very smart and challenging game! Cons: It takes a weekend to play a game.
What a pleasant surprise. I have tried some of Sid Meiers games in the past and was not that impressed. Most of his games are 80% city building and 20% military. Civilization III Gold is a nice balance of the two and then some. Not only do ...
Pros: Better AI, new world wonders, tribes, and civilization attributes Cons: Still the same basic game, in-game scenarios are restrictive and uninteresting
I am a self-professed Civ 3 addict, perhaps not as much as the good folks on www.civfanatics.com, who appear to have a bit too much free time on their hands, but enough so, that I've become familiar with many of the game's subtle points. And although I ...
Im morally obligated to tell you right off the bat: Dont buy Civilization III unless you have hours upon hours of your life to throw away. But if you do, you wont be disappointed. The premise, of course, is that you are the ruler of a ...
Pros: Lots of new goodies, interesting twists in the gameplay Cons: Stupid AI
Civ III is pretty close to the ultimate open-ended strategy game (at least by today's standards), so how do you improve on perfection? You don't - you add bells and whistles, but discriminatingly so to avoid going over the top. The most interesting ...
Pros: Interesting concept, build empires, rule the world. Very stable game. Cons: Repetitive once you have conquered the world a few times. Not enough technology options.
I bought Civilization III Gold Edition at Best Buy for 30 bucks. I have played it for several months and have begun to tire of it a bit. However, I did enjoy learning it and it is a novel approach to this type of game. Civ III never crashed and seemed ...
Pros: Always different, simple but complex Cons: graphics could be better, not much action
Sid Meier's Civ III is a great strategy game for those able to devote hours to one campaign. You will need to set aside ample time as the gameplay for this can be quite consuming, unless you wipe out all of your rivals early on in the game. ...
Pros: Long game time- won't get bored
Good graphics
Cons: Not being able to ignore opponents moving through your own territory
Civilization III is an awesome game. It never gets boring because every game is very different. You can choose which civilization to be, and whether you want to focus on science, military, economy, or culture (I almost always focus on advancing science ...
Pros: A fun and effective way to spend your time if you are a gamer. Cons: Get the update patch. Did have problems once due to not having it.
This is a fun and time consuming game.
The key points of the game is to pick the civilization you want to be and play as that civilization till the game is over. After you start the game and have decided what country you want to be you have to make that country grow, in both military and city status. Each city that you produce you have the option to make military units, city improvements or settlers. The settlers are the ones that can make new cities. As time goes on in the game your scientists make new discoveries. Certain scientific discoveries will allow you to make more improved city improvements or military units. When you have a good economy, and a good military force, its time to take out the other countries.
There is a lot of controls for certain features in this game, so give yourself a few games to get the hang of it. When you first play it, play it in "Easy" mode. I have been playing for a long time and the difficult mode is still true to its name.
