Pros: Almost fragrance-free, cleans well while being gentle. Good everyday shampoo. Cons: Expensive especially when compared to drugstore brands.
I've struggled with my hair for longer than I will like to remember. But I have some sort of an answer in Clinique's haircare system and this shampoo is simply indispensable in the 3-step system of cleanse, condition and style (I use their Daily Shampoo,...

don't hate it, but not impressed
by pigeonpepsi ,Oct 16 '03
Pros: Nice bottle design, light scent Cons: dried my hair out
I had been using Clinique skin care product at the time, and the counter lady suggested their new shampoo. It was kind of expensive, but not anymore than a good salon shampoo.
The bottle is nice a clean looking, like all of Clinques products. The scent was light, and not overpowering, but it really dried my hair out. The conditioner didn't help replenish the moisture, and ended up weighing my hair down.
To me, I felt like there are some salon and drug store brands that will do just as well, if not better. I'm not against paying more for a superior product, but this one I felt, fell a little short.

Clinique Daily Shampoo - Everyday Cleansing a great product
by chip12414 ,Sep 22 '04
Pros: Improvement is noticed after first use.
Daily use does not dry or harm hair. Cons: Expensive. Available only in certain stores.
UPDATE -- No longer being sold
For years, I thought there was little difference between shampoos - costly or bargain cheap - except fragrance. On a whim, I tried the Clinique three-step and well, it is the Clinique Daily Shampoo - Everyday Cleansing that made the difference for me. I don't use the conditioner or other product in the "three-step" program.
My cowlicks and waves seem to almost disappear and the hair seems to do what I want after using this shampoo.
UPDATE June 2006: The Clinique ladies in their phoney designer lab outfits told me at Macy's that Clinique is no longer offering hair products, except some hairspray. No more conditioner, shampoo or whatever that other 3rd step was.

Really dissapointed in the new formula
by rhglott ,Mar 30 '05
Pros: Shiny hair if you can stand the fragrance Cons: Fragrance
I was a huge fan of the Clinique daily wash shampoo until they discontinued their "old" product last December with promises of a new and improved formula coming out in the spring of 2005. Not only did they not have enough of the old product to cover the gap between discontinuation and the launch of the new product, but the changes to the shampoo were very disappointing.
I have used this shampoo for years because it did wonders for my hair and it was fragrance free. I am allergic to fragrances (especially flowery ones). When the new and "improved" shampoo came out this past month I was very disappointed to find out that they had added a fragrance. I can no longer use this shampoo as the fragrance is rather strong.
This pretty much flies in the face of what the Clinique brand is trying to accomplish with their test hypo-allergenic products.
