Blocks the Indian Sun!

by arathi Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Feb 19 '02
Pros: Oil free and compatible with sensitive skin
Cons: The tint takes a while to disappear.
Using sunscreen has become an integral part of my skin care routine. I use a moisturizer with a sun protection factor(SPF 15)for every day use, since I am not outdoors much. However, when it is time for my annual trip to India, I seriously start...

Super City Block: Nothing Super About It

by cardinalgrin , Jun 16 '07
Pros: effective, oil-free
Cons: expensive
As a red-headed, fair skinned girl, I've always had to make very nice with sunblocks, sunscreens, hats, and--occasionally, despite all that--aloe vera. When I was little, I remember my mom smearing me with oily, sickly sweet Coppertone until I glistened ...

Doesn't live up to the hype

by baby_pie , Apr 29 '08
Pros: applies and absorbs well, softens skin
Cons: Greasy feel, didn't work as a makeup primer
The search for a good facial daily sunscreen is one that seemingly never ends for me. I feel guilty and paranoid if I skip the sunscreen, but I get greasy if I do. So on my life long search I found Clinique Super City Block and decided to give ...

Super Protection for Sensitive Skin

by hollegolightle , Aug 02 '01
Pros: Oil Free, broad spectrum UV protection
Cons: none
In my continuing quest for skin care solutions that work for sensitive skin, I came across an article about Clinique's Super City Block. It had apparently generated quite a buzz by providing broad spectrum UV protection (meaning it protects your skin...

This may just be the perfect facial sunscreen.

by jaderabbit , Oct 03 '00
Pros: UVA/UVB protection, oil-free, allergy-tested, light tint
Cons: The light peachy tint may not match darker skin tones
The quest for the perfect facial sunscreen--ah, heck, for one I could just stand to wear daily--has been a long one. Body sunscreens were too harsh, but many facial sunscreens were too oily. The ones that were oil-free didn't offer adequate protection....

The Search Goes On

by mirisa , Feb 14 '02
Pros: Good non-chemical sun protection
Cons: Not good for oily skin
Finding the ideal sunscreen is a kind of obsession of mine. I'm 25 and I don't have wrinkles, and I'd like it to stay that way as long as possible. There are 2 things I can do to stave off the wrinkles: not smoke and use sunscreen. Well, I don't smoke,...

by jinxifer , Feb 03 '02
Pros: Super Duper Sun Protection at your fingertips!

I was all set at the Clinique counter to buy the city block, when the Saleslady asked me if I'd be interested in teh Super city block. "Well gee," i asked, "Super city block? what's so super about it?"
The Saleslady smilingly informed me that the...

It just keeps getting better!

by rhizu , Mar 27 '01
Pros: The greatest sunblock ever is even stronger.
Cons: The color of it can goop up a white t-shirt.
It never crossed my mind that when I went to the Clinique counter at the department store that I might be tempted to whoop with joy. I knew that City Block was good, and I just sort of assumed that since it wasn't broken the good magicians at Clinique...

Use it Daily for Great Looking Skin

by elusive_blonde , Jul 31 '00
Pros: Easy to use and provides great protection from the sun
Cons: Would like an even higher SPF factor
I've been using Clinque's Super City Block for about three months and I really love the way my skin looks! I have allergies and very sensitive skin...so sensitive that I can't even use a lot of Clinique products. I tried the Super City Block because a...

This is not the product for oily skin!

by girlzmommy00 , Apr 29 '01
Pros: The sunscreen works
Cons: it made my face slimey, didn't work with my oily skin
I bought this last summer at the recommendation of the lady at the Clinique counter. I was looking for a sunscreen for my face. I just use Clinique products, so I expected that this would be an excellent product like everything else I bought from...

Evens out my ruddy complexion!
by twinmom04 ,May 15 '04
Pros: SPF 25 protection, greaseless, oil-free, sheer tint evens out skin
Cons: none
Before I got married, I made a trip to the Clinique counter to have my makeup done. I'm very low maintenance when it comes to my everyday makeup, only wearing base and mascara and a little lipstick. The lady that helped me at the Clinique counter applied the super city block 25spf to my skin before applying the base. She then proceeded to put the rest of my makeup on. This is how I came to purchase Super City Block. I absolutely love it. It is the one thing in my makeup bag that I put on every day. It is oil free so it doesn't feel heavy or greasy when you apply it. It has a sheer ivoryish tint to it which truly evens out my reddish blotchy skin. I now skip wearing foundation entirely(unless I have a really special occasion to go to) and just apply the super city block. Of course, the most important benefit is that it provides all day protection from the sun. Overall, Super City block is a great, reasonably priced, everyday facial sunscreen with the added benefit of a sheer tint to even out blotchy skin.

Amazing skin protection product
by blatcl01 ,Feb 20 '07
Pros: Oil- free, doesn't clog pores, great SPF protection
Cons: None
I am 21 years old, and I have good genes for aging, but I always like to use a moisturizer with SPF in it to be safe. I previously was using one that was oil-free but still made my sensitive T-zone break out. I got a sample from clinique of this product and i started using it the next day. I gave it a one week trial so make sure it did not make my face break out. After a couple of days, I was sold! It smooths your skin, moisturizes, and protects with no oily residue or clogging of pores! I use the SPF 40 version and I am obsessed. I recommend it to anyone!
