Pros: Looks Cons: Performance
Today, Cobra makes some of the most popular radar detectors on the market. I wonder, how do they do it? Well, these line of Cobras have a very nice curvy style, very sexy... Indeed. The Cobra ESD-9110CS is the base model, and retails with a $105 MS ...

Pros: Sleek, 10 band function Cons: Not loud enough, Not sensitive in hilly or forrest area
I bought this radar detector after my other one got stolen a while back. I used to have a whistler, and I love it. I don't really know why I decided to buy the cobra this time around, but I think that the $10 rebate had something to do with it as well as...

Good value for the money
by speedbird0001 ,Dec 31 '03
Pros: Picks up most cops, Some nice "extras", lower price Cons: Plug falls out of lighter outlet
I bought this radar detector at Circuit City for $99.99, then got a $10 mail in rebate. Setup on the windshield of my Saab was VERY simple. The suction cups and bracket work quite well, and everything feels like it's of solid construction. The plug goes into the cigarette lighter. That's the major problem I have--the plug doesn't really stick in the lighter outlet, it sort of falls out every once in awhile. Once I took it out on the road, I found the general performance to be good. It picked up most every squad car I passed, from a reasonable distance back. The different other features included work decent. The "Intellimute" feature is supposed to mute alerts when the engine RPM is below a certain level that you set. This is a neat feature and works quite well. Keep in mind though; low RPM doesn't necessarily mean low speed. I found this and the other features (city/highway modes, safety alert, strobe alert, etc) to work as advertised. Overall, this is a good detector that works pretty much as advertised and presents a good value for the money.

Great looks, lousy performance
by wkdf ,Aug 30 '04
Pros: Ergonomics, Alerts (system of, not range) Cons: Little range, gets confused, easily set off by other radar detectors.
I took this detector for a test drive a couple of months ago and wish I hadn't! Compared to comparable, no, much cheaper Whistlers it just doesn't stack up. Low range in all but X band. Easily set off by other radar detectors causing nose dives for no reason. Gets confused on which band it's picking up. A little pricey in it's class.
There is a plus side though...great ergonomics, great audio and visual displays, good looks, well built, an interesting false signal killer that depends on your engine RPM's but it doesn't work well with a stick shift...but what good is all this if it just plain doesn't work...buy a Whistler.

I buy a new detector...
by carlo_dt3000 ,Feb 06 '03
I buy a new detector about every two years. The Cobra 9210 seems to do just as good of a job as some of the more expensive models. The sensitivity may not be as strong as others but that also helps to keep false alarms at a lower rate. I have owned the more expensive models and had to suffer through many false alarms which makes you ignore the signals. This detector has saved me a few times on the highway. Not bad for the price.

so far so good... no...

so far so good... no tickets yet. not so sure how reliable it is yet because of times when i've driven by parked cop cars (assuming they were waiting to radar or laser someone)and nothing's gone off (1 time). it has a lot of bang for the buck and is easy to manage... looks good too

by afplaya12_dt3000 ,Jan 03 '03
I got pulled over because the thing went off right after I went by the cop, and obviously that does not do me a lot of good so I dont really know the range of it. Maybe I just have to use it differently dont know how but well see.
