Pros: nice price, good sound and picture quality Cons: whirring noise, sensitive, weird antics sometimes.
On a whim I decided I wanted a portable DVD player, since my oldest is now going to school in another county, I felt sorry for my youngest having to ride in the car for long periods of time with nothing really to do, so I decided a portable DVD player ...
Pros: Great picture quality, battery playing time Cons: tinny sound from player speakers, earphones to large for my ears
Part of what attracted me to DirecTV as opposed to Dish Satellite was a promotion that stated I would receive a "free portable dvd player". I wasn't expecting much out of a free dvd player, but when it arrived I eagerly tore into the package. Inside ...
Pros: Remarkable package, and the low price! Cons: Little loud and can't input video/audio from video game or camera.
To give you a sense of how and why I bought this Coby TF-DVD7005 DVD player, I was out looking for a Christmas present for my brother-in-law. Since the family is big we draw names and I got his name, and was limited to $100. Since I am in Canada, that ...
Pros: Included Car Adapter
No motion blur noticed. Cons: Tinny built-in speakers
only one headphone jack
I too received this portable player for free by signing up with DirecTv. As previously stated, I did not expect much, after all I am an avid A/V buff. I was never in the market for one of these, but after my experience with this unit, I will always ...
Pros: Clear picture, good sound Cons: poor back up battery whining noise
I received this product for free from a buddy who was going to Turkey then decided at the last minute to cancel the trip. He never used the DVD Player and it was still in the box unpacked. I did him a favor and he gave me the unit. I never heard of ...
Pros: Nice size, connects to television Cons: Poor battery life
I received this DVD player for Christmas one year ago so I have given myself plenty of time to evaluate if I like it or not. I read the instructions before using and charged the battery overnight before trying it out. I got less than ten {yes 10) ...
I bought this at CVS for $50 to use while camping. Fortunately we usually sleep in our SUV when camping because you can't watch a full movie without plugging this unit into the lighter outlet. With a fully charged battery it will only play for 45 minutes (wonder why they bother with the battery at all?) Picture is ok although color is not at all vibrant. Sound is barely loud enough even when you're sitting within 24". If you were watching alone I suspect the headphones would sound better. I've watched two movies and it "only" seized up once requiring a restart. I guess it's about what you'd expect for the money.
Great little dvd player, more than I expected to get by sugshand ,Mar 10 '07
Pros: Portable, very versatile, AC/DC cords, excellent display Cons: Sound quality not great, small 7" screen
I signed up for Directv and was surprised to learn I would receive the dvd player as a free gift. When it arrived I wasn't expecting it to be great, but was happily surprised. It was certainly a lot more than I could have wished for as a free gift. It has a really clear LCD picture, and will also work for my photo cds. I love the versatility, will work with its battery, and includes a DC cord for car and an AC cord for home use. It has AV jacks to connect to any television with RCA jacks. It has a neat functional remote control. Very useful and fun little device!! I would recommend it to others.
battery and customer service by aljennat ,Jan 09 '08
Pros: color and sound Cons: dead battery and poor customer service
Received the Coby TF-DVD7005 as part of a promo. Came with battery that holds a 5 minute charge. Called Coby Customer Service. They want $18 to replace battery plus my shipping costs. Without a receipt from the promo, the battery will cost $40 to replace.
Pros: Picture quality, Battery Life!!!, Weight. Video/Audio Output. Cons: Speakers not so great (but headphones do the trick)
I received this DVD player through a special offer.. so it was free. I expected it to be a device with not so much quality, but i was wrong. I am very impressed with the picture quality, and especially the batter life! I fully charged the battery and left it playing without the plug... it's been playing my movie for 4 hours now.. and it is still going. (i have brightness set to low, around 20%, too bright hurts my eyes) as well as set volume to loudest.)
the sound isn't that bad either... but if it's a noisy environment, expect to use the headphones if you want to be able to hear your movie. Pretty decent headphones that were included with the package.
Overall a great buy, and even better if it's a prize. I would recommend it to anyone. I've had mine for over 3 months and it's been working great.
Coby Portable DVD Player by marcus-d22 ,Dec 28 '06
Pros: Widescreen, easily operable, and incredible sound and picture quality Cons: There are no negatives to this product.
The Coby portable DVD player has raised the bar of DVD players in the DVD realm. The Coby TF-DVD7005 Portable DVD Player with Screen seems to be very easy to operate. The screen is a Widescreen, which has a theatre affect. It also has an attached control area so if you lose the remote control it is still possible to navigate through the DVD or CD, an extra feature which many other portable DVD players don't have. It has amazing picture and sound quality, it makes me want to watch a DVD on it because of the quality of the product. The portable DVD player is easily operable and very good quality, to experience my enthusiasm about this product I strongly encourage you to buy this item you won't regret it.
After medium use (3 movies a week) and 4 months the laser head stopped reading discs.
Returned, same thing 2 months later.
Returned, same thing 3 months later.
Can feel it in your hand (I will pay more attention when buying my next portable DVD) a certain impression of "cheapness." Light. Flimsy. Clunky clacky buttons sometimes have to punch 'em twice.
Slow to read discs even when new. Slow to respond to button input.
Broke in a few months- BAD COMPANY WARRANTY by stanhh ,Oct 24 '09
Pros: Um, Cheap? Cons: Um, Cheap.. Company does not even attempt to stand behind their product.
Warranty= Send the broken item back to them along with a money order for return postage and HANDLING!!!! What?? Wait to see if they want more money because you caused it to stop reading disks.
Here is the quote from their website "To obtain warranty replacement, return the product freight prepaid to the address below within the duration of the warranty. Please enclose the product, copy of receipt, detailed description of the problem and a money order in the monetary amount found on your warranty card.
