Pros: Smooth finish to hair, good temperature control, quick to heat, long cord Cons: None
My hair is fairly short, fine, worn straight, and it has the consistency of thread. There's not an ounce of curl to be found in this fine head of hair. So, you might want to ask why I'm using a straightener. Because my hair dresser told me to. Fine ...
Pros: Inexpensive, natural curve is very comfortable, lightweight, HOT HOT HOT! Cons: None...
I have short hair that likes to frizz and get puffy and curly and look like I stuck my finger in an electric socket. So 99% of the time, I wear my hair straight. I don't like to spend a lot of money on beauty products so when I saw this Conair ...
Pros: Inexpensive, heats up quickly and straightens my hair silky smooth! Cons: Heating eliment might not last all that long.
I have had this "Conair Satin Finish 3/4" Ultra Slim Ceramic Straightener" for about a year and a half now. I have been extremely impressed with how well it works for the price. I am the type of girl to only use the $165 Chi Flat Irons but since I tried ...
Pros: thin, light, durable, warms up quickly, and makes hair look great Cons: let me get back to you on that
I'm running late, as always, I've just gotten out of the shower, and I have a date coming to pick me up in just 20 min. I'm running around like a crazy person, ripping my closet apart, and throwing make-up supplies everywhere. I finally get my face put ...
Pros: Works wonderfully, doesn't break the bank Cons: none
Let me just say that i absolutley love this staightener. I had a different staightener before and it took forever to get my hair straight. I have very thick, curly hair. I finally got fed up with taking 45 minutes to staighten my hair with my old ...
Don't waste your money on the Conair straightener by lizreb ,Jul 19 '05
Pros: Not much other than it is lightweight. Cons: Doesn't perform well at all...a definite disappointment!
I have naturally curly hair and of course, we all want what we can't have...and I want straight hair! I purchased this item because my previous Revlon straightener stopped working after only eight months of use. This item was reasonably priced (around $22.00) and lightweight, but you get what you pay for.
They, like other straighteners, have 25 heat settings as well as a "turbo" heat setting. Let me tell you, I spent double the amount of time trying to straighten my hair even on the turbo heat setting! The turbo setting gives off no more heat than the highest (25) setting. The unit is also curved which makes it difficult to straighten towards the scalp area. After about an hour, my hair went back to the way it was, full and big!
I ended up throwing the unit in the garbage and purchasing another brand.
Did what I wanted and still is by kendratl ,Feb 16 '05
Pros: It worked, it's fast, it made my hair straight and it still is. Cons: None at this time. Still have happy hair:)
I am sorry if the other person had trouble with this. I bought it yesterday, did my whole head in about 15-20 minutes, I have shoulder length medium hair. It did what it was supposed to do and this morning after sleeping on it all night it is still straight and shiny and soft and doing fine. I used the number 9 setting, had to go over a few spots that are normally pretty unruly but all in all it did a good job. I live in a humid area and my hair gets frizzy and wild and I end up looking like medusa after a few hours. All I did this morning was run my fingers through my hair and it was styled, it was tangled or anything. Usually in the morning it looks like rats have set up camp on my hair so I was really happy to see it look smooth and silky still. I would recommend this and already have to many of my fellow curly headed friends who are tired of dealing with medusa head.
Pros: Heats FAST and easy to handle. Cons: None as far as I know.
I have really thick hair, and I guess you could say its in between long and medium length (a little past my shoulders). If this little thing can go through my hair and leave it looking the way it does then nobody should have any problems! I've had a better one, then again it cost me $80 so this iron does a great job for the price. I never have to wait for it to heat up which is great for those days when you're in a hurry and need a little touch up. And boy that thing gets hot! I've had mine for a year and I've had absolutely no problems. It works like i just bought it!
Want to waste your money? Then buy this! by mrslugosi ,Oct 01 '04
Pros: It was compact and price was reasonable. Cons: Did not do what was advertised.
I bought this ceramic straightener this morning and was hoping it would at least do a somewhat decent job on my hair until I am able to save up to buy a really good professional one like "Solia". Let's just say, "You get what you pay for!" I wouldn't even call this a straightener. I had to go over the same strips of hair over and over about 5 times! I have healthy hair and it still did not do it's job and it was constantly tearing out pieces. I had it on the highest setting "25" due to my hair being medium thick and with a wave to it. It took me literally about an hour to do my whole head of hair which is all one length and stops a little below my shoulders. I was getting so tired, that I almost gave up half way through. In the end my hair still had a frizz to it and still had waves. What a waste of time and money! Not to mention that now I have the hassle of going back to the store to get a refund. Oh what fun.
Pros: Smaller width than regular straightening irons. Cons: Not enough heat to straighten long or really wavy hair.
I bought this hair straightener because it was small, and would not take up a lot of counter space. I have long hair that is past my shoulders and the iron did not heat up enough to straighten. I was still left with wavy hair. The iron works much better on short hair, because my mom uses it now and she likes it. I would not recommend this straightener for long hair, unless you want to spend all day straightening.
Back on the train to curlyville. by cheekyc ,May 11 '05
Pros: light weight, heats up quickly Cons: inconsistent temperature, not very effective
I must say I was happy with this iron at first. It is lightweight, heated up very quickly and gave my hair a nice silky smooth finish. Unfortunately after using this iron for about two weeks, I have noticed that I have cranked up the setting to it's highest (25) and it is still not getting the job done. It seems to have just lost it's steam. I have very fine hair which normally straightens easily, but it no longer seems to work very well. The iron still gets hot but I have to pass over the same section 3 or 4 times and sometimes it seems hotter that others. I guess you get what you pay for!
I've been using it and it works. by virgo2 ,Aug 16 '05
Pros: Small width, ideal for straight hair, heats up fast and does its job. Cons: Does have curved edges so you can't get right down to the scalp.
I use a chemical relaxer on my hair and I'm a guy.. I have sort of ethnic hair since I'm half black, and I use the hair straightener to style it up, and it straightens perfectly fine. I love how it heats up really fast unlike other straighteners, and it is ideal for short hair since it is only 3/4 of an inch. Love it.
The only bad thing is if you straighten too often, like with any straightener, you'll get split ends.
The Conair Straightener by foreverxyours ,Jun 02 '06
Pros: Heats quickly and has a Turbo button to boost heat temp.
Straightens well and quickly Cons: Is sort of small, but for some, like me, that's what is good about it.
This straightener overall works really well. I have had many straighteners in the past and this is definitely the best one so far!
Pros: Works for a little while, small. Cons: Heats less and less every time it is used.
I bought this straightener because it was fairly cheap. I have fine chin-length hair that has a bit of wave to it, even after blow drying. The first couple of times I used this iron, it was fine, then it just kind of stopped working. It didn't get very hot at all, and i had to do the same sections of hair over and over to get them even remotely straight. After about three months, it stopped working all together. The light would turn on but the plates never even got warm. I returned it to the store where i bought it and they let me exchange it, but a couple months later the same thing happened again. I would recommend buying a more expensive professional model. I did and it has saved me so much time and frustration that it was well worth the money.
