Pros: I didn't have to pay for it. Easy to use.
Cons: Didn't straighten my hair a BIT.

  • Don't Buy an Expensive Flat Iron, This Works Just as Well

Pros: Inexpensive, leaves hair straight and shiny
Cons: Gives your hand a strenuous workout

  • For that Super Straight / Arvil Lavigne Look

    Feb 01 '03
Pros: Makes hair straight as a pin, see inside for list of pros
Cons: Heat may be damaging for hair follicles

Summary: First off, I'm somewhat a fan of Arvil Lavigne's super straight long locks and it's nice to be able to do the same hairstyle at home. That was my motivation for purchasing a hair straightener. Why did I choose this product over all the other ... read more

  • Not worth it

    Jan 21 '03
Pros: The steam option, long cord
Cons: Does not staighten, pulls hair, damages hair

Summary: Boy do I have a lot to say about this product and the category of hair straightening. I have thick, coarse, and somewhat wavy hair. Not extremely curly or really wavy but just slightly curly/wavy. The description of my hair is important when I talk about ... read more

  • Not worth the effort, time or money!

    Nov 19 '02
Pros: Straightens hair, long cord, fairly quick heat-up, steam reduces hair damage.
Cons: Pulls hair, uneven overall heating on metal plates, hair appears frizzy and damaged.

Summary: I have thick, wavy and coarse hair. So of course I would love to have nice smooth straight hair every once in a while. After having my hair straightened with a flat iron/straightening iron in my local hair salon, I decided I had to have one of these. ... read more

  • Unless you look like the blonde...

    Aug 16 '02
    Pros: NONE
Cons: Not for coarse or thick hair

Summary: I think this product was made only for people who either already have straight hair or have fairly thin hair because this product just didn't work AT ALL for me. I have thick, wavy hair (so thick I'm always getting comments about that... actually went ... read more

  • Conair Straight Styles Iron is Absolutely marvelous!

    Aug 16 '02
Pros: Straightens hair, makes it soft
Cons: Time consuming, most be damaging if used often

Summary: I saw the ad for this iron on TV one day and thought it might be for me. I have long wavy thick color treated blonde hair and I hate to blow dry my hair and takes up to an hour to do properly. I tried to straighten my hair with a blow dryer and I think I ... read more

  • Long/Coarse hair owners save your money

    Aug 13 '02
Pros: Cost, size is small and sleek
Cons: Comb hurts & causes tangles. Too time & energy consuming to attain a noticeable difference.

Summary: The Conair Straight Styles Model SS6 may work for thinner and/or shorter hair, but it is worthless on long and/or thick hair. I have thick hair just past my shoulders. My arms were exhausted after 20 minutes of use and my hair still looked like I was ... read more

  • Just one step in the quest for straight hair

    Jul 22 '02
Pros: it works well compared to other straighteners
Cons: hot to the touch, water chamber is too small, no stand to keep upright

Summary: The History of my hair Like many natural curly girls, I have always wanted straight hair. I've always been jealous of girls with long, smooth, shiny hair. My hair isn't supercurly, but curly enough to look like a big frizzball when cut too short ... read more

    Pros: Straight hair, somewhat...
    Cons: somewhat...

Summary: I have thick hair, and I don't mean just any old thick, I mean so thick that I don't have to wrap a scrunchie twice, only once! Not only is it thick, but it's wavy as well! It's nothing I am proud of either! Some may say I have been blessed ... read more

    Dec 15 '01
    Pros: Does what it says....kinda
Cons: I bought it with my own money!

Summary: About a year ago, I decided I wanted stick straight hair. How I yearned for the glossy, bend-free locks Hollywood showed! Thank God it was only a phase though! Since I have medium-thick hair with some wave in it, I decided to buy a flat-iron. So I ... read more

  • Not the best, but okay!

    Nov 10 '01
Pros: Fast heat up,has comb, uses steam, indicator light, 6 foot line cord, dual voltage.
    Cons: doesn't always work well.

Summary: Did it do what it promised? Was it effective? It only did what it promised half way. It was about 50% effective. In the commercial it shows the lady just sweeps it right through her hair and her hair is magically straigt, that's not how it ... read more

  • Express Reviews
  • Good as it's advertised

    Dec 23 '05
Pros: Straightens well, but use hairdryer and spinning brush to get the heavy curls out first.
Cons: Units fail before the year is up (clogged steam holes).

Summary: I have thick, curly longer-than-shoulder-length hair, and in conjunction with a blow-dryer and rotating brush (which I use first every day), I finish with this unit. Have used it every day for over 2 years and think it's great. Gives perfectly
