Is the Raptor really FAST as Claimed?

Pros: Good capacity for operating system, reasonably quiet and fast (compared to IDE and old SATA--7200RPM).
Cons: Didn't live up to reputation/hype; Bechmark/Test showed inferior to SCSI, not faster than current-7200RPM-SATA, Expensive.
