Pros: Excellent wet and snow handling Cons: Not so excellent life
The Continentals are a standard dealer issue on many German cars. My BMW 5 series had them when I picked her up. In comparison I have also used Michelin and Kumho, Goodyear, and Toyo tires on my BMW 3 series. Of the latter list I preferred the ...
Pros: price, treadwear, traction, handling, rain driving Cons: odd sidewall design but you will get over it FAST
I have had my Continental ContiExtremeContact (CEC) tires since January 2003 and they very pleasantly surprise me in every way. First of all you should have a little background on my car so you can see what this review is based on. The car is a 5 ...
Pros: Very good grip in snow. Nice ride over dry pavement. Cons: A little spongy with fast cornering.
I bought these as replacements for the cruddy bridgestone re-92's on my 2004 impreza rs. The reviews for snow grip and all around driveability caught my eye since i live in upstate NY so I decided to try them. After 4 months with them I'm not at all ...
Pros: Amazing Handling Cons: Could be a bit quieter but they're not that noisy
It was time to replace the tires on my wife’s 1998 Toyota Avalon , the Bridgestone’s that were on there had seen better days. I was looking at reviews of other tires without even given these a thought. I was reading a few reviews on the Yokohama & ...
Pros: Tenacious traction; Tires squeal near limit rather than just letting go Cons: Strange sidewall design
I've had the Continental ContiExtremeContacts for about six months now and have put about 11 thousand miles on them. These tires are on my 2000 Toyota Camry 4 cylinder. The wheels are 17x7 and the tires are 215/50-17. I bought these tires when I ...
Pros: Very grippy in wet and snow, reasonably priced for a high performance all-season tire Cons: Flexible sidewalls cause vague steering response.
Living in Southern Ohio, we get just enough snow to make a good all-season tire something to think about. Living in my neighborhood, with its very steep hills, make a good all-season tire a necessity. The ContiExtremeContact is the third set of tires ...
Pros: Excellent all-seasons grip, excellent road feel, great looks, great price. Cons: Embarrassingly trendy name.
Way back in March of 03, I finally had enough with the factory rubber on my PT Cruiser. (I bet you can find that review if you want to.) A study of replacements led me to these: The Brand: Continental has a lot of respect in certain ...
Pros: Great grip, excellent cornering at high speeds, low price. Cons: Odd looking tread.
In my neverending quest for good tires, I have owned many All-season and Max performance models. I live in a snowy climate and every November I have to handle the task of swapping to my winter tires by way of a tire shop or changing to another set of ...
Living in Chicago with a high-performance car can be a challenge; you want a tire that keeps the car on rails in the dry but one that also bites through the snow. I've gone through several different so-called 'high-performance all-season' tires with ba ...
Pros: good traction in the dry, excellent in rain, very good in snow, quiet, comfortable Cons: causes vague steering, soft sidewalls
The tires on the used wheels I'd just bought were gone. I had just bought a set of 16" OEM used alloy wheels with Dunlop S8000 Z-rated summer tires on them and they were more than half gone. A few thousand miles later, they were almost bald. I used the ...
Pros: Smooth ride, good thread wear, inexpensive, good winter traction Cons: Soft sidewall (relatively)
I have had these tires for about 4 months and close to 10,000 miles (75% - 85% highway). They are 215/17-50 size and are installed on 17x7 rims on a '00 Toyota Camry. I am not a very aggressive driver, but performance is important. I was looking for ...
My 1993 Porsche 968 was making some serious roaring noises from the back of the car that I thought was either a bad wheel bearing or an impending transmission disaster. (The Porsche 968 has the engine in front but the transmission in back.) I took a look ...
Pros: Great Handling, Great Grip. The have transformed the car compared to the Pirelli's. Cons: Pricey.
I purchased these tires from a local retailer after problems I had with Pirelli P6000's and the TireRack. These tires perform well on my 1986 Mercedes Benz 560SL. The hold the road and grip while turning at high speeds. There has been no tire failures as with Pirelli. The car handles like it was designed. Tire size is P205/55R15 92V. I don't drive the car in wet or cold weather, so my only comment is on dry surface.
Pros: All-Around Handling, Low Noise, Good Tracking, and All-Weather Performance Cons: Even at their max pressure, the tires look a little soft.
Purchased these tires Fall '04. Some of you from New England may remember our winter that year. Well around here we got 3'-4' of snow!
Most of the time the snow was up to my windows. Once they pulled some snow out of the way I was off and running. My other vehicle (FWD) couldn't go places my RWD 240SX was going with these tires.
Snow traction is excellent, dry traction is excellent up to spirited driving, and not a hitch in the wet either. I have a smaller sidewall (205/55) so the tires don't wander as I see some reviews mention.
The tread design is different but performs well in the wet and snowy weather. I will have no problem deciding on my tires for my next car!!
