Pros: Good high speed handling, solid, no wear after 6,000 miles Cons: Need to be better known
Cooper Weather Master Performance Tire Last fall I had to buy new tires for my 2004 Concorde which had 59,000 miles on the original Michelins. I had driven three different Concordes from 1994 through date and had been pretty well sold on the platform ...
Pros: Good traction in most winter conditions Cons: Slightly noiser than the stock tires.
I purchased a set of four from a Cooper dealer. Price was approximately $83.00/tire Driving experiences I have a 2002 Suzuki Vitara(also reviewed here). This rig came with Uniroyal Tiger Paw A/S tires that did fine for driving during July ...
Pros: awesome traction and stability! Cons: that Hyundai doesn't provide a tire like this as stock!
We have a new 2004 Santa Fe and the stock tires were horrible in the snow. After a little research and partly the previous reviewers comments we purchased this tire. They have been performing flawlessly! We have a very steep driveway and every car ...
Pros: Excellent traction, good ice tire studded, priced well, Cons: A bit noisy
I have used both generations of studded Weather masters on no less than four vehicles, both front and rear wheel drive, and I also encouraged my sister to buy a set for her car. We Love Them. My dad was a car guy, and studded tires were paramount to him. ...
Pros: great traction, louder than my summer tires, but not bad. Cons: none yet- cost more than I planned to spend but so far worth every penny.
I have a Subaru Outback Sport and recently bought these tires since I live in Vermont and have a pretty steep (1/4 mile windy hilly) driveway. My mechanic recommended them and he was right. I love these tires, (and my Subaru!) I made it up my hill through 14 inches of snow, and have aslo made it up every time since in 6 inches or more with no problems at all.
I'm the last house on the hill and no one else made it up, except me and the Jeep with tire chains! Everyone else had to wait at the bottom for the plow. Best snow tires I ever had.
They are louder than summer tires, but not too bad. I have found they handle well in all conditions. The traction is just great.
Great winter tire (studded) by rpcarver ,Oct 04 '06
Pros: Excellent stopping, control, power (with studs) Cons: price
I live in Granby, Colorado at 8000 feet. I drive over an 11,000 ft pass at least once a week year round. The pass gets over 26 feet of snow a year. I put a set of studded cooper weather masters on both my toyota 4wd pickup and our suburu legacy wagon in October and take them off in May. The tires made it 3 winter seasons (7 months/year) on both cars. I'm buying another set for the suburu and trying another brand ($100 cheaper) for my truck this year on my mechanics recomendation.
I like the tire, the price is a bit high, but I'd buy these tires again (and am for my wife's car).
Pros: Save 20% off "regular" name brand tires. Cons: Not worth the money, wear out very quickly, cant be driven in wet conditions.
By far, the worst tires I have ever owned. I will never buy another product from Cooper Tire. Not only do they not provide any traction driving in wet conditions, they are down right dangerous to be driven in snow. I thought i would save a few $$$ on 215/65/16. After less than 35K, the belts are worn through and the servicing team that looked at them (Honda dealer) said they had had never seen such poor wear. I tried to get them rebalanced, but they couldnt even guarantee since they were in such rough shape. Heed my advice, never buy anything from this company.
Pros: Easy to buy, because my mechanic had them. Cons: Extremely poor warranty and poor construction.
I have a fleet of 6 cars and because my mechanic was a Cooper dealer, we used a lot of Cooper tires. We have had three warranty claims for defective sidewall failure, which was obvious, in all three cases.
In ALL of these cases, Cooper declined our claim, and in all cases they said it was driver error in hitting curbs. Absolutely hogwash.
I've pulled ALL the Cooper tires off and replaced them with other more honest tire suppliers and will NEVER USE or recommend Cooper again. Unfortunately, it cost my mechanic thousands. Hope he finds a better vendor.
I guess Cooper has not learned from the settlement of their class action suit in which they were found to knowingly produce defective tires.
Won't Buy Cooper Tires Again, either by arssax ,Sep 15 '06
Pros: Inexpensive Cons: poor mileage
I appreciate reading reviews although I don't normally write them myself. I was so disappointed that I wanted to inform others looking at Cooper tires about my experience.
I bought a set of Cooper high performance tires about two years ago, rated for 70,000 miles. With only 22,000 miles on them they are worn out and will have to be replaced. I received excellent service from the dealer, but that doesn't make up for the poor life span of these tires. I won't be buying Cooper tires again.
Pros: Excellent Snow Traction, quiet, priced below competitors. Cons: none that I can think of
Despite previous reviews, I was quite satisfied with my Cooper Weathermaster s/t 2 tires. I went from a 4wd truck to a Pontiac Sunfire and was looking for a decent tire without having to pay a huge amount. I was amazed what that car could go through and I felt very safe on snowy roads. Never had a big chance to drive on icy roads with them so can't review that aspect. The car seemed to handle as well on these tires as all seasons and with very little road noise. These tires far surpass my wifes Uniroyal Tiger Paws on her car. Recently sold car and have purchased Coopers Discoverer M+S for SUV.
DO NOT BUY COOPER TIRES FROM COMPLETE TIRE SERVICE INC. ELLSWORTH, MAINE by downeastme ,Apr 25 '08
Pros: A GOOD PRODUCT, BUT WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT Cons: IF YOU PURCHASE A COOPER TIRE THEY WILL NOT HONOR A RETURN DUE TO DEFECTS.
I HAVE BEEN PURCHASING COOPER TIRES FOR MY BUSINESS AUTOS FOR THE PAST SEVERAL YEARS. WHILE EXCHANGING MY STUDDED TIRES FOR A NEW SET ON ONE OF MY VEHICLES THE TIRE COMPANY FOUND A SIDEWALL BULGE ON ONE OF THE TIRES. THEY CLAIMED THAT WE HAD HIT SOMETHING TO CAUSE THE DEFECT. THAT IS RIDICULOUS. THE TIRE COMPANY, COMPLETE TIRE SERVICE INC. OF ELLSWORTH, MAINE WILL BE CONTACTED TO REPLACE THE TIRE THAT WAS PURCHASED LAST OCTOBER 6 MONTHS AGO. IF THEY DO NOT, MY COMPANY WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER COOPER TIRE PRODUCT, OR DEAL WITH COOPER TIRE SERVICE INC. AND WE WILL NOTIFY ALL OF OUR CUSTOMERS AND FRIENDS OF THEIR UNETHICAL PRACTICES.
ROBERT SHARKEY, PRES. CRI BUILDING INSPECTIONS
PS. COOPER TIRE COMPANY HAS BEEN NOTIFIED OF THIS DEALER'S UNETHICAL PRACTICE.
