Pros: Easy to assemble, install, clean-I could go on for days.... Cons: I would like to see colors other than black/grey, navy blue, or brown.
Disenchanted with my 3-in-1 car seat since my daughter had reached the appropriate weight to use a booster, I decided to ditch the dead weight and pick up a lighter booster.
I found the Cosco High Rise Booster Seat at a local store....
Pros: Safe, easy to use, lightweight, cup holder, snack/toy bag Cons: The arm pads don't stay on with just the straps attached
Description of the Cosco High Rise Booster Seat
The Cosco High Rise Booster Seat is a one piece plastic booster seat. It comes with a fabric cover for the seat area and for the arm rests. On the left side of the seat is a pop...
Pros: Small, easy to use Cons: difficult to put seat belt on
This is a great seat for the 4 year to 8 year group. The weight range is 40-100lbs. It is a narrow seat so I somehow wonder if it can actually accommodate a 100lb child. Height range is not a concern as long as you have a head rest that is high enough...
Pros: Price, Durability, Ease of Use Cons: Drink holder stability
This booster has traveled cross country comfortably. It has become such a hit with my kids that now Nana has 2, and I have 2. It seats comfortably, and the drink holder comes in handy, especially when you're picking up fast food on the run. Our ...
Pros: Price is low and seat is simple to use. Cons: Not as safe as full size boosters.
This car seat is a lightweight seat that is ok for use for taller, older children. It is simple to use as you only need to place it in your car and your child simply sits on it and you place the adult lap and shoulder belt over your child. I do not ...
Pros: Cleans up easily, cup holder, portable. Cons: Arm pads could be attached better.
Sturdy and easily cleaned. Can be moved around effortlessly.Cup holder is so handy, great idea. The arm pads come off too easily, but if you attach a strip of Velcro to the pad backing and the arm rest it stays better.
Good pricing.
Cosco Highrise: Easy, No-nonsense booster by cjinlove ,May 26 '09
Pros: Low cost & lower weight requirement than most boosters in it's price range, Lightweight Cons: None
I got sick of swiching a heavy car seat back and forth to the grandparent's cars, so I went out and purchased this booster. My parents have their own, but they always request that I give them this booster because it's easier to buckle the child into, and it's lightweight enough for my mom who has arthritis in her hands--it's so lightweight she can hold it with one hand. It's cheap price was attractive because I only had less than $30 to spend on a new seat. I got mine on sale for 17 dollars at Walmart. The weight requirement is at least 30 lbs, which is great because most backless boosters require the child be at least 40 lbs. and 4 years old. I do NOT (nor do the manufacturers) recommend this booster if you have a car that has no head rests in the back seats or only an old-school lap belt.
Pros: Easy to use, easy to move between my car and my husbands, very comfortable Cons: color of fabric
I love the fact that my daughter can feel like a grown-up in her own car seat. After trying two different car seats with the backs attached, I decided to try the COSCO HIGH RISE. I love the fact that it takes two seconds to move the seat from my car to my husbands. With the seat being so small you would never guess that it has a built in cup holder. My daughter loves to be like mom and have her cup of juice with her, so the cup holder is a plus. It wasn't expensive at all and it will last a lot longer then the last two that I have tried. I would highly recommend the COSCO HIGH RISE.
This High-Rise is Really Compact! by klear123 ,Mar 01 '06
Pros: Low cost, easy to use, doesn't take up too much room in the back seat. Cons: May not be able to adjust seatbelt if it rubs the child's neck.
I needed to find a booster seat to use in a new vehicle that my wife and I just purchased (2006 Honda CRV - please see my review). We have 3 children, ages 4, 8, nd 12, so making sure we have enough room in our rides is important (we do not have a minivan). I compared the various widths and lengths of competing models, and he Hi Rise was the smallest. My 8 year old daughter, who is petite for her age, fits in the seat well. She tells me it is very comfortable, and I know she is telling me the truth because if it was uncomfortable, she would let me know immediately! Besides the compactness of the seat, the High Rise has a handy cut-out in the sides so the child can easily access the seatbelt latch. Fortunately, this booster seat appears to be the least expensive of any I have checked out - $13.50 at Target!
Small holes in base can injure your child's finger by brendabean1976 ,Jul 09 '09
Pros: cheap... you get what you pay for! Cons: Holes with sharp edges under seat pad where children's fingers can become stuck and injured.
I liked this seat up until last week when my 4 year old son started screaming in the back seat. He had slid his hand under the seat pad and stuck his finger into a small hole. We pulled over and had a hard time removing his finger from the hole. The bottom of the hole has a very sharp edge and in the effort to get his poor finger out the skin all the way around his knuckle was torn off. He now has scarring on his finger and we pitched the seat... Went with Graco.
