by lilsquibb lilsquibb is a Top Reviewer on Epinions in Kids & Family, , Jan 02 '08
Pros: Sturdy, looks alright, Little Guy Loves it, Perfect toddler height
Cons: It's plastic
There comes a time for every mom that you have to face the transition from baby to big kid. One big transition is moving to a big kid bed. Knowing we would soon need the crib when brother arrives, we began thinking about a new bed and how to shift to ...

Home Sweet Bed for the Uncaged Toddler

by Dr_Steph, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Sep 29 '01
Pros: Inexpensive, nice neutral color, compact
Cons: Side rails could be a little higher
I know it's terrible to admit this, but I always loved it when my kids were too small to crawl out of their cribs. There are times (like 3 AM) when you really want them to stay put and not wander around the house. I've even been known to make the cage...

Pros: Unisex design & color, mattress has a snug fit.
Cons: Side rails are not mesh.
We have been through a few toddler beds in my house. When I came across the Cosco Nod-a-way Toddler Bed, I didn't have to think twice about purchasing it. I loved the design of it, I am quite familiar with Cosco, and this toddler bed was not too...

Good Night Sweet Princess.....Cosco Nod-a-Way Toddler Bed

by maggsmomm Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Apr 01 '02
Pros: Sturdy construction, wipes clean, safe for toddlers
Cons: You need a truck to get it home!
I am what is referred to as a “first time mother”. The meaning-I see, I buy. There is nothing too good for my child, no matter the cost. Her crib, which was very expensive, made of white oak, was never used. Okay I am lying, she slept in it a few times....

Toddler Bed... Mom & Dad's Bed??

by gypsyrose75 , Dec 20 '00
Pros: Great Price, Easy Assembly
Cons: None
As my last and final baby decides to become more and more independent this was just one of the many milestones accomplished. He climbed out of his crib to show us just how much he hated being contained.

He is 15 months old and already thinks...

Perfect for Us

by dagny21, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Feb 28 '03
Pros: Inexpensive, attractive, durable.
Cons: Pain in the $#%@ to put together. Active sleepers may fall out.
Several weeks before we planned to move my son from his crib to a toddler bed, I started worrying about it. Not about how he would make the transition, as I was pretty sure he'd do fine with it. Instead, I was worried about the cost of the thing. I...

Cosco Nod-a-Way Toddler Bed

by michelle7898 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, May 30 '04
Pros: Great Great Great !!!
Cons: Instructions are pointless.
It is said that your child needs to be 2 years old or older to sleep in any toddler bed. This is not always the case though. I spoke to my daughter's doctor about it and she said that even though my daughter was only 18 months old she belongs in a ...

Pros: Excellent toddler bed, even for younger toddlers
Cons: None so far
Our son slept through the night from the time he was five weeks old until he reached one year. Then he wouldn't sleep at all, for some reason we could not determine. Although he had not tried to climb out of his crib, he had a terrible time when we went ...

A toddler's bed

by bjcuevas , Nov 02 '00
Pros: It is priced right, fits in a small room and has railing. It is low to the ground for safety.
Cons: I believe it only comes in white. The railing could be a little higher and the space between the railing and end board leaves enough room for the child to fall out. There is not a snug fit between the mattress and bed.
After shopping around for several weeks and watching for a bargain. My daughter purchased the Cosco Nod-a-Way Toddler bed for her son. She wanted something that would fit in his room, about the same size as the crib, low to the ground with railing on...

Cons: the spaces of the bars where the mattress goes are to far apart

Cosco Toddler Bed

by kellir , May 07 '03
Pros: Easy setup, compact size, no slats in side rails, fits crib mattress, easy cleanup.
Cons: none noted.
The first thing I liked about this bed was the color, white. Knowing this bed would become a hand-me-down from my now 3 yr old daughter to my now 18 mo old son, gender neutral color and design was important at the time of purchase. The color goes with...

Toddler bed

by Laurie0201 , Feb 20 '01
Pros: Small, inexpensive, cute

Pros: This bed is unisex and it is perfect for a small child.
Cons: Made of a very hard plastic which can cause bumps on the head.

a nice alternative to a big bed
by sulley123 ,Oct 17 '03
Pros: Wonderful!!!!!!! a great transition tool between crib to big girl bed
Cons: Product has weight limits. I'd like to sit on her bed to read to her.
We invested in this product when my daughter became too big for a crib and not yet big enough for a big girl bed.
It has proven to be a fabulous investment.
I love the idea that this bed is so close to the ground so that on the out chance the child rolls out of bed it isn't much of a fall.
This product takes a standard crib size mattress so that you're not buying another mattress, just use the one you already have!
The bars on the sides are an excellent feature that helps to keep the toddler safe.
i don't feel that i hate anything about this product.

Good For the Whole Family Toddler Bed
by jjwillison ,Jul 27 '04
Pros: Inexpensive, round corners, tight mattress hold
Cons: Doesn't feel sturdy for over 50 lbs
We were a little nervous to see how our happy crib sleeper would like a 'big boy bed.' He loves it! I like that the mattress (crib sized, use the one you have) is snug fitting for safety reasons. It wasn't too bad to assemble, but you need a strong hand or power tools to really get it tight. Also, remember it's molded plastic - no grownups can sit on it to read the bedtime stories!

Great Bed--Cosco Nod-a-Way Toddler Bed 10-B01
by ur8up ,Sep 14 '04
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: None yet
This bed is a perfect choice for $50.00 bucks! I bought it at K-Mart (not my favorite store) and I am happy with my choice. I thought it was relatively easy to assemble (its large plastic pieces); it is easy to clean; great bang for the buck!

Excellent Bed Lasts LONG time
by candygyrl1985 ,Jun 24 '09
Pros: QUALITY
Cons: The color of the bed attracts dirt
I highly recommend this bed, it lasted us 4 years. It is very sturdy, safe, and easy to clean. The rails are at a decent height to prevent roll outs and there is a head board and foot board. Very sweet looking. Good for a boy or a girl. (I had a boy).

Cosco Toddler Bed is Great!
by burkel ,Jun 01 '04
Pros: Price and Easy Assembly
Cons: None so far.
This bed is really nice for toddlers just transitioning from a crib. I have 2 of these beds, one for my son and one for my daughter. The price was right (retailed at WalMart for about $40.) and is simple to put together. I assembled did both beds myself. My son got this bed about 17 months ago (December 2002) and he loves it, so we got one for my daughter (May 2004). The bed is low to the ground and my toddlers can get in and out easy. It has held up great so far.

Nice little bed!
by mamamackie ,Mar 23 '04
Pros: fits in small rooms, easy to wipe clean, mattress has a good, snug fit
Cons: the side-rails could be a bit longer and a bit higher
My daughter is 14mo old and absolutely hated the idea of a crib! We figured a toddler bed would be great for her - safer and smaller than a twin bed, closer to the ground so she can get in and out of bed herself. She LOVES it! The only problem we've had has been that she falls off of it too much. She is a very active sleeper and has woken up on the floor several times. She has also been walking on the bed (we're trying to teach her not to) and has managed to fall off it. She is a very, very active child! Other than the fact that I think the rails on the sides should extend longer and be a bit higher, I love everything about this bed - even when she falls off, she doesn't get hurt because she's already so close to the ground! :-)

Great Inexpensive Transition
by abgirl ,Jan 11 '04
Pros: Sturdy and great on space.
Cons: Tucking in blankets are a hassle.
I bought this bed for my son a few months after his second birthday. He loves being able to crawl (or jump) in and out whenever he wants. It is very sturdy. The side rails are great for fairly still sleepers (like my son) and gives them a little comfort. I agree that the bars under the mattress could be closer together. Our mattress fits really snug in it, but if you have a toddler bed set, it's a little more effort to try to tuck in the blankets on the sides. Overall, it's great on space and you find out that your baby is now a big boy/girl!

Worth the money...
by ebbakids ,Jan 20 '04
Pros: wipe clean, very strong, very durable
Cons: frame creaks a little when my toddler gets on/off it
We bought this bed for my daughter, and now my son is using it. Talk about durable! And it's very strong--I believe the manufacturer recommends up to 65 pounds on it, but I've slept in it with my toddler when he was ill a few times and the frame didn't even budge. I love the wipe-clean plastic molding, its also very safe. When my toddler trips or bumps into it, he doesn't get hurt (unlike metal or wood). I found it easy to assemble...we've even taken it apart a few different times and reassembled it with no problems. The white "sleigh bed" style is really cute, and matches almost anything. The price is right...I feel like I've gotten a real bargain out of it, as its been passed down from child to child. As always, the mattress you put on it will make the difference between comfortable and unbearable--so that's something to keep in mind. The only fault I've found is that it creaks when we get on and off of it (perhaps the screws need tightening?).

A winner here!
by homeschoolmum ,Feb 05 '04
Pros: Classic styling, easy assembly, wipe-clean, sturdy side-rails
Cons: weight limits discourage a parent from sitting on bed

I loved the classic, sleigh bed style of this toddler bed. I bought it for my daughter when she learned to climb out of the crib at 16 months but it would be perfect for a boy as well. The white coordinates well with any nursery/toddler decor as does the classic lines.

I found it easy to assemble and dis-assemble - ours has been put together 3 times now. It is a little bulky to store due to the molded plastic head/foot boards and side rails, however.

Safety-wise, it is low to the ground with securely attached solid side-rails. The side-rails are on both sides so it even works when the bed is placed away from a wall.

Overall, this toddler bed was perfect for us. We're saving it to use again in the future (I hope). I would recommend it without reservation. The only drawback (and it's common to most, if not all toddler beds, is that due to the weight limits, a parent can't sit on the bed and read to the child.

Cute bed, Happy SLEEPING toddler
by luvmyangels ,Jan 22 '05
Pros: toddler loves it, no more lifting heavy toddlers into bed!
Cons: toddler can get out of bed on her own
When my 2nd daughter was 13 months old we purchased a Cosco Nod-a-way toddler bed for her. Since she had a sibling on the way, we wanted her to be comfortable with a big girl bed long before baby sister arrived. At first she was content to look at the bed and play on it, but still slept in the crib. At about 15 months old she started taking her naps in her big girl bed. Within a month she was sleeping in the toddler bed full time. Considering shes part monkey (can climb anything...Ive found her on top of tables and even in the changing table set on top of a playpen!), she can put herself to bed very easily. She loves having the freedom to get in and out of her bed when she pleases (theres a baby-gate across her door preventing night time wandering). At almost 2 years old, my daughter still loves her bed. At nap-time and bedtime she begs to be tucked in!

Sturdy, won't cause injury, great size! great buy!
by sesamechicken ,Dec 30 '04
Pros: Inexpensive, easy to climb in/out of, not cold metal, bumping won't cause injury.
Cons: Side rails could be slightly taller and/or longer.
We bought this bed for $40 at WalMart for our 2 1/2 year old daughter. She was so excited for it, she hovered over my husband and I as we put it together. One of the phillips bolt heads didn't have enough groove in it but my husband got out his saw and carefully made it into a flat-head screw. Another of the parts was bent slightly (one of the metal tubes underneath that you slide into a hole), but trusty husband fixed that quickly as well. It took us about 1/2 hour to fully assemble. Daughter kept popping her head into the room to make sure it was still there. She slept perfectly all night long. I would recommend this bed to any cost-conscious parent who thinks wood is the only way to go. When daughter bumps against this bed she doesn't get hurt on any wooden corners. As long as Mom or Dad doesn't try to "test it out" it should hold up very well.
