Mount Redoubt extended spring break we stayed here
by pdboilermaker ,Apr 17 '09
Pros: The staff is the best I have ever seen Cons: Pricey if you dont book by internet, we paid $71 rather than $119/night
I have stayed in Courtyards in the lower 48, but this was my first attempt at it in Alaska. Because they are so far away, dont think that they skimp. This hotel is on par with any in the lower 48 but what makes it a standout is the service. The staff is wonderful.
My family and I were there during trying times, Redoubt kept blowing up and flights kept getting cancelled but the staff was fast and effecient with all of the customers.
They kept everyone informed as to the airport activity, Redoubts activity and their knowledge of local activities and cheap family fun was unbelivable. They reccommned cheaper places for us to go and cheaper activities for us to do while we were trapped in Anchorage and we were never disappointed.
Our room was clean, the lobby was very well appointed, and the views of the ice covered lake across the road, loaded with small pontoon planes taking off and landing was really a sight to see.
The wireless internet was fast, and a strong signal. The laundry was cheap to do, and they provided the soap as a nice added touch.
