Pros: Easy to use, lightweight, cuts well, a lot of run time or cuts per charge. Cons: Not very fast. Hard to store and charge.
I bought this because it was only $30.00 more than a manual pole saw at Sears. It cuts great and is easy to use. It it is not a power house - as it takes about a minute to cut a 4" or so branch. The box says it will cut a 3" branch but I cut over 5" -...

My scissors would have done better
by sweetspirit ,Sep 09 '03
Pros: Fairly light, and easy to figure out. Cons: Saw blade dull, 16 hour charge, product lies, doesn't work.
I was very disappointed with this electric pole saw. It had a small little saw that was so dull when I touched it didn't hurt one bit. You have to charge it for a whole 16 hours! The battery isn't THAT big! When we finally used it we tried a small branch, it had some difficulties. On the box it says it can cut through branches of 3 inch diameters. Well, this branch was barely 1 inch and it had trouble. We continued to try this thing out and on our last attempt the blade came off and got stuck in the branch! I knocked the blade down (not afraid one bit of it falling on my head) And then packed it back in its box and returned it. I then bought the traditional pole saw, the one with a rope and it did 50 times better, and I got the job done in an hour. DON'T PURCHASE THIS ITEM! YOUR SCISSORS WILL DO A BETTER JOB!

Pleased with my Craftsman Electric Pole Saw
by imeusalbs ,Mar 07 '04
Pros: Well balanced; excellent value for the money. Would recommend to any home user. Cons: The User manual doesn't have the part number for blade replacement.
I purchased this saw yesterday, charged it overnight, and had a very successful pruning session today. I found it cuts limbs up to 1 1/2 inch (haven't tried larger ones yet - that comes next weekend).
The product exceeded my expectations. For $89, I generated a large pile of cut branches in my driveway. The saw was still going strong - but I was not!
This product is well balanced - I was cutting from a 10- foot stepladder with the saw pole extended to the full length without any problems.

good for what it does
by wfred ,Dec 19 '06
Pros: Light and handy, get to where one can't reach in thorny places. Cons: The blade could be stronger, longer and more durable
I've had this saw for a couple of years now ad use it strictly on my prickly palms. Many palms have lots of thorns on their branches and this saw allows me to get in there and not get all poked and wounded. My problem now is that it won't charge anymore. The instructions say one can simply leave it plugged in without harm to the battery. That does not seem to be the case as I used the saw a few months ago, plugged it back in and now it is dead to the world. I'm looking for a new battery and have not yet found the particular part number.

Couldn't cut even a small branch
by thegoodz ,Jun 16 '05
Pros: Sears let me return it. Cons: Does not work. Skip this one.
This thing really did not work at all. I'm not sure why, but the blade wouldn't even cut a very small 3/4 inch or so branch. The blade doesn't bite into the wood.
