Pros: Plenty of power. Very Easy Operation. Cleans almost anything Cons: Hose connection placement could be better. Soap dispenses only on low pressure.
This review was my second review that I wrote here at Epinions. It has seen many views and has been a great review, but I think that it is time for an update. I bought the Craftsman 6.5 hp Gas Pressure Washer in the summer of 2002. It is still ...

Pros: The tank injection is handy; the "cool down system" described is a good idea. Cons: Too bad the poorly designed pump makes the overall assessment "next to worthless."
The failure of these pumps is not due to the users leaving them running while doing something else as one claimed is likely the case. The instructions allow for short breaks in use, saying not to exceed 3-5 minutes ("If you run the engine on your ...

Pros: NONE! Cons: They use cheap parts inside these units and they know they're ripping people off!
I, too, have a Craftsman pressure washer..it's been sitting for a couple of years now because the water pump housing broke off where one of the bolts goes. I think I bought it in April 2003 or '04. The first one I got leaked gas everywhere on the first ...

Terrible Machine
by skevin77 ,Jun 24 '08
Pros: Worked as it should for the first couple jobs. Cons: Design, Engineering, Materials, Functionality, Cost, Cheap garbage.
This machine is not worth its weight in scrap metal. The engine is fine, but every other component on the machine is terrible. The hose real was a joke. The tires lost air pressure, the nozzles were always falling out of their holders on the wand. and oh yeah... the pump failed and sprayed oil all over a deck I was cleaning. I've had tons of problems with Craftsman lawnmowers in the past. I now vow to never purchase a Craftsman again. The are over-priced junk. Designed to fail.

Buyer Beware
by xcraftsman ,Dec 04 '04
Pros: Always had good prior experience with Craftsman tools. Cons: A major disappointment as is Sears not standing behind their products.
I purchased this washer last October, 2003 to refinish a deck. Worked great for 10 to 15 hours but then bolts that hold water side of pump sheared off. Took in to local Sears where I purchased and they repaired under warranty, no problem. Since the deck was almost finished at the first failure there has not been much usage on the repaired pump. Today, December 3rd, I used to wash out carport and again pump failed, this time on the piston side. Back to the store. This time I'm told the one year warranty is out and the first pump repair was only warranted for 90 days. Now I'm left with a pile of junk. Obviously the pump design is faulty. Would not buy this unit again!!

Craftsman Pressure Washer 580.767300
by tomsopinions ,Sep 21 '07
Pros: NONE Cons: Cheap Crap
I bought it in May 0f 2001 and it performed very well the few times I used it that summer. Next year, right after the warranty expired, it just didn't have enough pressure to do even the lightest cleaning. I rebuilt the pump myself at a cost of $ 112.00 - No help. As far as I am concerned, this is a piece of junk.
PS- I bought a craftsman snow thrower and it broke down after a total of three hours of use. Craftsman products just aren't what they used to be. Now they suck.

Craftsman 6.5 model 580.752550 Pressure Washer
by dw1234 ,Aug 12 '07
Pros: Good engine, starts easy, Good pressure when working Cons: Anything except the motor is the cheapest money can buy
Bought this Pressure washer for various jobs around the house. Have used it VERY LIGHTLY. after approx. 1 year, the "allen" headed bolts holding the pump, popped each of their boltheads off. After inspecting what remained, it appeared that those bolts were made of old "pot metal" (real cheap stuff) When this washer was working, it performed well. After gaining this experience, I would spend approx. $175.00 plus $399 plus ($175.00 cost to fix this Sears washer)and get a Quality pressure washer for around $574.00 and have a better chance of having a working powerwasher for a few years instead of a little more then one!

CRAFTSMAN POWER WASHERS ARE JUNK!!
by ironman71 ,May 08 '09
Pros: B & S engine is fine; started quickly after sitting all winter; never any problems. Cons: Cheap imported pump manufactured with low-grade steel; both tires constantly leaked air; wand settings jammed.
I can only echo what the vast majority of other reviewrs state: this Craftsman pressure washer is a poorly-desinged and manufactured product. After one season, the Italian-made pump blew out one bolt and sheared off another as it exploded in use. The estimated repair is $380, nearly what I paid for the washer!
This is obviously a calculated rip-off by Sears. I will NEVER buy or recommend another Craftsman product; in fact Sears is off my radar for ANY of my future needs.

Craftsman 6.5 Pressure Sprayer is junk
by hhsports ,Aug 15 '09
Pros: When it worked it did a good job. B/S Engine runs great Cons: Fuel System easily clogs up Tires constantly lose air PUMP IS CHEAP JUNK JUNK JUNK
I have searched all over and have found (a little late) that this sprayer has failed over and over with the same problems. The B/S Engine runs great but the pump is nothing but crap and will fail. Bearings in mine failed after less than 10hrs of use. A new pump runs over $200 which is crazy. Everything I have bought from sears over the past 2 years has turned out to be nothing but cheap junk!
Avoid Craftsman pressure washers...they are Cheap Junk!!!!

Craftsman Power Washer ONLY CLEANS OUT YOUR WALLET!
by juju563 ,Jun 30 '09
Pros: None Cons: Poorly designed, cheap parts, potentially lethal due to exploding/flying parts.
Worked fine the firsts few times I used it and them BLAMMO!! Like everyone I have read in the reviews, the cheap piece of junk pump assembly blew apart! Fortunately, my son who was standing near the machine, did not get hit by the highly pressurized parts that blew off the machine. DO NOT BY SEARS JUNK PRESSURE WASHERS! They are either not reading the reviews on their machines or just plain do not care (most likely). I have always admired the company for their hand tools and the replacement policy of such, but that's where the admiration ends. From all that I'm reading from everyone, Sears has had to have known that these pump assemblies have been a defective nightmare for its consumers. If these reviews are any representation of the faulty and dangerous nature of these pumps, then it is a very widespread problem that may have to be addressed with a class action lawsuit.

Craftsman 580.752800 7.0 Hp Washer
by jjjames49 ,Oct 10 '06
Pros: B&S 7.0 Hp OHV Engine,Starts easy, runs great. When Washer was working-Great Job. Cons: Life Expectancy of 10 hours and Sears Attitude is unacceptable.
I have suffered a similar experience with the Craftsman mentioned above, 7.0 HP, 2800 PSI Washer. I used it a few times (less than 5 hours)last year. Began power washing the deck a couple of weeks ago on weekends and after about 5 -7 hours of intermittent operation the Pump let out one heck of a noise nearly stalling the Engine. Investigating the Pump Oil Cavity I found it full of large metal filings. Changed the oil every 30 minutes of Operation and barely limped through the rest of the job. The Pump is definitely shot and, of course, out of Warranty. Just the replacement pump is $220.01 tax freight. As you can imagine, I'm not very happy with Sears and my "Craftsman" $499.95 Pressure Washer. The name "Craftsman" just doesn't seem to hold the Value it once did.

Craftsman 6.5 model 580.752550 Pressure Washer
by cowboy296 ,Jul 17 '07
Pros: Engine runs good. Starts easily after setting up for several months Cons: The design of the pump has to be faulty. Recall should be made.
I purchased this on 5/20/03 ($399.99). I have only used it about 6 times for @ 2 hours each. The fourth time I used it the bolts for the pump sheared off. Went to local hardware store and purchased new bolts and repaired myself. Yesterday I was using it again and 2 of the three bolts sheared again and all the internal parts and oil flew out. This time one of the bolts broke off inside housing so will probably not get it out. It also cracked the housing around the bolt hole.

Craftsman 6hp pressure washer 580.752300
by alantho ,May 31 '07
Pros: Motor (a Briggs & Stratton) works great. Cons: Pump failed after minimal usage.
Nozzle would not adjust off of high pressure.
Pump failed to produce pressure after very limited use. It was out of warranty, of course, though it had been used very little. A replacement pump (w/o installation) is more than $200, so it doesn't make sense to replace, especially since I'd be replacing it with the same junk. I wish I'd read these reviews before I bought the thing!

DO NOT BUY
by beckwith1255 ,Jul 19 '06
Pros: none Cons: to many to mention
I have had the same problem with my washer. Used it twice and them the manafold cracked. Had that repaired under the warranty and they forgot to put the plug in...back to the shop. Now, a year later the pump is out and they want $310 to fix...this is just a bad product. Do not purchase this washer

Craftsman 7.0 PSI 2600 Pressure Washer
by izu21 ,Jun 03 '06
Pros: engine started promptly Cons: Water pump replacement too expensive and wears out too quickly.
Purchased this pressure washer in April of 2003. Have not used it much since buying. Used it this week to power wash my house. As I was using it the water pump blew, bolts fell off and water was spewing from the pump. Took the washer to the local Sears repair center. I was informed that it would cost me $350.00 to repair. I purchased it at $439.00. This is outrageous! Just a ploy for Sears to get you to buy there insurance on their items which is very expensive. Would not purchase this item again.
