Pros: Excellent basic bench sander big enough for almost everyone Cons: Discontinued, but often available on-line or at garage sales
Well folks, it was the same old story. It can get awfully expensive when a tool loving guy like myself, has a Sears Hardware Store half way home, and a job that was driving him crazy. This time I saw a Sears Craftsman Belt/Disc Sander 21536 in ...
Pros: solid heavy construction, well made, good value, fast material removal Cons: Changing belts requires removing cover, belt alignment can get tricky
I purchased this unit from Ebay, and got a pretty good deal.
The unit uses 4 x 36 belts and 6inch self adhesive discs.
The construction is solid, heavy cast iron base, however i recommend it be bolted down, it will walk across the...
Pros: solid, powered well, full featured Cons: no complaints

Pros: Good Power, Strong Base, Great Tracking Cons: A couple of small adjusting screws
I bought this sander thinking it would just be ok. For $10 more they had a higher up model, but you couldnt remove the work bench table. After easily setting it up and not needing to adjust the tracking, I was surprised how smooth the machine ran. I have used it a lot for furniture making and I havent had to adjust the tracking. It has a strong iron base which lets you put some good pressure on your sanding work. The only downside I really see is that if you want to adjust the sanding belt to either a flat or 90 angle, you have a little wrench to adjust some small screws behind the sanding disk. I wouldnt let that stop you from buying this machine.
