Pros: good for making you very frustrated Cons: doesn't work for presta valves as advertized, nope.
I was looking for a pump to carry in my backpack and this one seemed nice and small, very lightweight. However I should have known better when I took a closer look at the clunky plastic it was made from. I have a feeling if I had kept it in my backpack ...
I’m certain anyone considering this pump has the intention of only using it in case of emergency. That’s good because that’s all it’s really good for. I've heard people say the pump doesn't work on presta valves, but I think this has more to do with ...
Pros: Compact pump gets the job done. Cons: Short chamber can make for tired arms.
I received the pump as a gift for Christmas but thats only because I asked for it after checking out many pumps and many reviews. Mine was from Pricepoint (I think) and it cost around $18.
In my opinion, Crank Brothers is probably the most...
Pros: Light weight, small Cons: Hard to use. Won't stay on presta valve. Doesn't pump up more than 20-30 lbs
I tried to use this pump on my first flat in 4 years!
It doesn't fit well on a presta stem. It is impossible to pump beyond 20psi. Fortunately I was close to a bike shop so they pumped up my tire with a floor pump. I would rate this pump unsuitable for road bikes.
Pros: Small, lightweight, reliable. An excellent emergency pump. Cons: A fiddle to get a seal around the valve. Difficult to inflate beyond 35 Psi.
I can't quite believe all the reviews on here saying how this pump doesn't work with Presta valves. It does!
I ride an XC mountain bike with Presta Valves and have carried this pump for 2 years, using it three times. It has a tightening nut and a locking collar which both are easily adjusted to create a perfect seal around a presta valve. It does only pump to around 35 Psi, but thats more than enough to get most cyclists going again. It's a fantastic size that is a trade off for the slight lack of power. In terms of an emergency pump that fits into the tiniest of bags, its excellent.
